I will gladly transfer management of relatives memorials to other family members who have a closer connection to the person memorialized if requested.

I will take photos in the area of Topeka, Shawnee County, Kansas. I will also take photos at the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, Barber County, Kansas during the half dozen or so times per year that I visit there.

If you want a special photo (such as during a specific season or time of day, family plot, back of the stone, foot stone, a distance shot to help show location, view of the cemetery map if available, etc) please specify what you need. I will NOT, however, disturb the stone or base in any way without written permission from next-of-kin with their relationship specified. Disturbing includes, but is not limited to, drawing back spreading vegetation, and if a stone is too weathered to get a good photo doing an extremely gentle 'charcoal on paper' rubbing and send a photo of that along with the photo of the actual stone for clarity if desired. If a 'rubbing' is authorized, I will mail the sheet after photographing to the next-of-kin if a postal address is provided.

RE: Joel's Chest
I'm sorry but I just now saw your message. There was nothing in his chest. In case you didn't know, he used this as his tack box when he was racing horses. I would love to discuss the Harrison genealogy with you. Please email me at:
cjh65@bellsouth.net

(I gave his chest to my niece because we were downsizing and I just didn't have any place for it. I knew that she would find a good home for it at her home and she has a grandson who I believe will carry on the family tradition and keep it safe. I am descended from Joel through his daughter Mary Wheeler Harrison Jones Blankenship.)

Clayton Bontrager grave photo
You had added a grave photo for Clayton Bontrager buried at the Holton KS Cemetery. I just added a newer grave photo, as his wife passed away last year and her death date has been added to the headstone. Thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to remove the one you posted.

James Ethridge Coleman
Hi - I connected James with his parents and would be glad to transfer management if you so desire. James is a 1st cousin 3X removed to me. Nice to meet another cousin!

RE: transfer requests
when I went to make the transfers, I discovered that I had, in fact, responded with a suggestion.

RE: transfer requests
My apologies for the oversight. I work in the field of emergency management and on June 30 we were still in response and recovery efforts from the world's largest tornado. I'm afraid a lot of things have probably slipped past me . . . like what day of the week it was, etc. BTW: That event passed within one mile of the cemetery. No damage, but it is amazing that there wasn't. That tornado stripped bark from trees and grass from the ground. Hope we never see that again.

I didn't see a way to leave you a private message so I have to post it here. I am related to Michael Szymanske. He is my Great-Great Grandfather through Agnes Lora. I see that you are also friends with my brother Mike Milner. I would doubt I have anything new to share as Mike is the more experienced genealogist that I. I had not ever hear of Michael Szymanske being called Big Mike though so that is interesting. I would love to know his family back in Prussia but I've not found that yet either.

Thanks,

Brian Milner

RE: transfer request
I need your contributor number. OR to make it easier, use the "edit" tab on the memorials and that sends all of the needed numbers. I'll watch for it, Judy

RE: Joel's Chest
Please contact me directly regarding Joel Green Harrison at cjh65@bellsouth.net - If you are wanting to know is there were items in Joel's Chest, there were none. It was used as a 'quilt box' in later generations. But I would love to know exactly how you connect to the family. Jean

RE: William Lester Connally
I am always glad to help. I had already checked, and found other Connally family members buried in the Moody City Cemetery. Of course, I am just assuming that they are related. I live in Moody, so checking is no problem.
