RE: Joseph Kincaid

First of all there is no record in Scotland that shows Joseph Kincaid of any spelling being born in Scotland. Some have shown him on their charts as being son of James Kincaid and Marion Boyd because they were the only possibility for him being born in Scotland thus making an assumption.

We have no document proof that Joseph was born in County Tyrone but several supporting things.

1. I match on autosomal dna a descendant of Joseph Kinkead of County Tyrone.

2. Joseph is not seen as a given name in Scottish records ever up to the time Joseph is seen in Albemarle County.

3. Joseph as a given name is seen over and over in N. Ireland for over 100 years before Joseph showing up in Albemarle County and specifically in County Tyrone.

4. No records have been found showing where Joseph came from to Albemarle County. Same for his close kin James and David. I wish ship records were more complete!!!

5. The leading researcher for Scotland and N. Ireland records, Peter A Kincaid, strongly believes Joseph came from County Tyrone.

Since there is zero evidence that Joseph came from Scotland and several supporting things for County Tyrone I believe County Tyrone should be shown. You can include any of my above comments if you want to clarify or state why the change was made.

RE: Elijah Winchester Stockton
Elijah is one of my ancestors; however, I sadly have little info on him. Glad to hear you have more info and family to add him to. Yes, I'll make the transfer ;)

RE: Lucinda (Miller) Hubbard born in Tennessee
Thanks for the update. I found her death certificate, which verifies her place of birth as Tennessee.

re: Find A Grave Memorial# 65083474
You mention James Erwin Kunkle as the source for much of your Kunkle information. I am very interested in finding out what evidence he has for the very specific date of Andreas Kunkle's birth. I am attempting to prove that he supported the American Revolution for the DAR, and have the proof I need. However I do need to support his birth and death dates. Any information anyone can supply me with that verifies the dates on this memorial will help. Thank you! Anne Beach

RE: Elijah Winchester Stockton
Sorry for the delay; have been away from my personal e-mail for a while. I transferred Elijah to you. He's my 3rd Great grandpa, but I know little about him. I'm looking forward to learning more from what you post about him and his.
Take care!
