I'm looking for my Grandmother, Janie Marie Starling-Pruett born in Louisiana in 1908. She's the daughter of James Reuben Starling and Ola Fugler. She lived in Memphis, Tenn. in the 1920's and 30's. If anyone has ANY information please contact me ASAP. I live in California and I only make it back to Memphis about once a year. Therefore, I can't sift through the cemeteries on foot like I'd like to.

RE: David Crockett of Arkansas
Mary, I'll be sure to forward the Crockett family info. to you when it's completed. In the meantime, I'll get that paper article pertaining to Mr. Crockett's tragic accident at the railroad tracks in Rolla, Mo to you this weekend. Regards, Garrett

RE: David Crockett of Arkansas
Thanks so much for the reply Mary. It's great that I found the right David Crockett. You wouldn't happen to have a photo of him would you? I'd appreciate one of him. If you'd like, I would be happy to give you a copy of the Crockett story I'm working on when I'm done...or if you're just interested in the article about Mr. Crockett's accident, I can send it. Regards, Garrett Gabel

Grandmother Rutledge/Richmond
Hi Mary!

I think you're on to something here- but Martha E. Richmond would have been the mother of Eddie Lee Rutledge (his sister Addie). I am trying to find Eddie's father/Martha's husband (She was going by Mattie in a few census records)

Eddie (Ed L) has his father's birthplace as Kentucky in the census- hope that's a good clue!

David Crockett of Arkansas
Hello, I was doing some research on David Crockett who had hotels/boarding houses all over the Mid-West including a town near me; Rolla, Mo. I naturally was attracted to his name from numerous ads in the Rolla paper in the 1870s-80s wondering if he was of the famous Crockett family. According to some info. I've read he was actually Crockett Durmon,a native of Virginia. Anyway, was your grandfather; David Amos Crockett crippled? The reason I ask is a "little David Crockett" of Rolla had his legs cut off by a train in 1881. Looking forward to your reply. Thank you, Garrett Gabel

Are you related to the Crockett Family?
I have been researching the Crockett Family and noticed that your message referred to "your Grand Daughter Rosalie".
Could Rosalie be the daughter of David B. Crockett and Ethel Evelyn Thompson Crockett? If so, I would very much like to contact her or someone in her family line to share Crockett Family genealogy information.

Thanks,
Gary Huggins

Starling/Jordan
Ms. Mary, I just saw John Starling's memorial at the Starling Cemetery. If this John Hampton was born in 1834, then he maybe a brother to Elizabeth Starling Jordan, she was born in 1840.
I descent through Elizabeth and William Warren Jordan's son James William Jordan Sr and his wife Elizabeth Campbell Jordan
