Obituary from the Junction City Daily Union dated 23 Oct 1917: Pierce Walton, a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home early Sunday morning. Mr. Walton was born in Lafayette (Allen County), Ohio, in 1840, and in his early boyhood moved to Iowa, where he was united in marriage to Mrs. Louisa C[lementine] [(Ramsey)] Holland in the year 1866. From there he moved to Kansas in 1877. He had lived in Geary County as a farmer until about 14 years ago when he moved to this city, where he resided until his death on Oct. 21, 1917. His wife, seven children and two step-children survive him. They are: Henry, Ensign, Kans; William, Neosho Falls, Kans; Effie Haney, Elkhart, Kans.; Covia Tibbitts, Salina, Kans.; Ida A. Fritz, James J. and Fred, of Junction City, Kans.; James Holland, Ensign, Kansas., and Addie Fisher of Paola, Kans. All the children are here for the funeral.
I have a copy of Pierce's Declaration for Pension, which states he was born 10 Dec. 1840, Allen County, Ohio, so this differs a little from the tombstone date.
I also have a copy of James Holland's Civil War pension file. He was Louisa Clementine Ramsey's first husband, who died during the Civil War and is buried at Port Hudson, Louisiana. Two children survived the marriage of James Holland and Louisa Clementine (Ramsey) Holland Walton: Mary Adeline (Holland) Wells Fisher, who is buried in the Paola Cemetery, Paola, Kansas, and James Eli Francis Holland, who is buried in the Johnson Cemetery, Ensign, Kansas.

Greetings: I am putting in Walton-Holland-Ramsey and wondered if you are from these lines. I am related to Walton and Ramsey...I also live next to the cemetery near Troy Mills-Quasqueton cemetery where their child is buried. Not Walton but a Holland..Also where John B. Walton's are buried...the weather is not good and I did not get all the pictures taken I want. I am going to add my information and I can delete it ..I also have differednt date for Pierce so I am probably wrong as you would ahve stone. Dear Sandra, I'm still working it. Though, moving so-far away & not having quite my Laptop hooked up & running here in Washington State yet. I would more than be happy/slowly transfer all (my) Gladwin County, Michigan Memorials over to person like a Ronald Roggow, Bob Frei or yourself if interested in Maintaining them? What ever the decision, I know! have done much and need not feel bad abt. my contributions. My greatest joy would be to know! All this material shared would lift up the Name of Jesus & everyone would give thanks for all the Blessings they have in their lives. I've done this not for Pay. Dear Sandra, note: The Beaverton City Cemetery is located close to where the Beaverton City Hall is located. Downtown on Brown Street, all you have to do is: Locate the Beaverton Centennial Clock in front of the City Hall & swing out towards the Beaverton-Clare direction. Just before bending around the corner to Calhoun Park. Ou n the Right hand side {Passenger} their's a Narrow entrance/fence & if you drive in. You'll see the Cemetery & another View of Ross Lake Park. If needing help! Just talk with Beverly Miller the Beaverton City Hall Clerk. It's easy to find. Oh, p.s.
