Bio and Links
Bio Photo Same as everyone, the older I get the less inclined I am to change. For any of us who have been on this site for a while, I am sure you have noticed the same things that are causing me a lot of frustration. Too much pettiness, too many people looking to have the most memorials and too many pop-up advertisements. Sad really as this seemed like such a great idea when I first signed on. The biggest pet peeve of all is disrespect. Keep in mind that you can attract more bees with honey than you can with vinegar...before you send me a nasty note.

I have not stopped my work on the Confederate section of Old City Cemetery. This is a labor of love and I will not stop til it is complete. If you take photos in the Confederate section to post a memorial here, please check, double check and triple check before posting. There are a lot of errors in the records and a number of the stones are incorrectly marked. Effective immediately, I will be posting memorials for soldiers in the Confederate section based on how their names are written down in the Diuguid records as those records seem to be the most used. I will also post the correct name of any soldier based on unit records or any other information you may pass on to me with the correct spelling of a soldier's name. A HUGE thank you goes out to find-a-grave member LJH for all of the help in correctly identifying the men!

I put a lot of effort into taking good quality photos. These last couple of years have been a learning experience, but I think I have got the hang of it, finally. I hope you don't mind my posting a photo to your memorial, even though you may already have one or more up. If you do not want my photo on your memorial, please let me know and I will remove it. It is so very important to me to take a good quality photo as I want to make sure the info I put on a memorial is correct on the chance that a family member will find the information and be able to use it. I always spend a little extra time wiping off grass clippings or bird poop, but that is all. Sunny days are best for a good photo, morning shadows really make a stone pop. Photoshop is your friend as well :)

Thanks very much for the headstone image. To bad it does not show his birth and death dates.

Hi, my mother was a Landrum, Anne Landrum Attkisson. Her father was Herbert Landrum, a minister.

How are we related?

Also, thanks for posting my relative because I was unaware of him before and found out he was buried less than one mile down the road from my home. Your work is very important to all of us who are researching our family histories. I know it's been said before, but thank you for all you do.

Thanks so much for taking a photo of my great-grandfather's brother's grave. I visited the grave today (4/11/2015) and discovered that the cemetery registry incorrectly states grave #7, whereas it is actually grave #8. Also, kudos to you for your great photo because I could hardly read the stone.

Thank you, thank you so much for figuring out this connection. I so appreciate it. I have corrected all the spellings on his page, so that his name is correct. This was so very nice of you.

"Transfer
Hi Mert57, transfer is complete for Mr Weatherford's memorial. If you would email me and remind me, I will make an effort to get there and take a better quality photo of his marker.

Sincerely,
Darrell Landrum
