Thank you for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this site. It's a fantastic source, if the recorder has the right information.If I have altered dates or names, I apologize. Please contact me and I will make the corrections quickly.|
I hope that I will be helpful to someone. I've worked on my family history for over 20 years now and it's amazing the wonderful things a person can learn, that are hidden away in some dusty corner or a dingy file.
When I have used others hard work, I have tried to be courteous and ask for permission to use their information and/or pictures and/or to give credit to them. I want to thank those who have allowed me to use their information, such as the Carroll Co Historical Museum in Delphi, IN and Brad and Ruth Hoggett from the Jefferson and Switzerland Counties in Indiana and other numorous, private individuals. I would appreciate the same courtesy.

|Chuck X||John Spicer & Mattie Woods|
LDS FamilySearch.org shows a transcript that John R. Spicer married Mattie B. Woods in Butler County, Ohio on 28 October 1903. Mattie is listed as 46 and single, daughter of James Woods & Charlotta Thorn. John's parents, Avery Spicer & Rachel Jordan, are also listed.

|Chuck X||Carla Suter|
I already know about Amy Suter, YOU posted the memorial for her back in 2006..(# 15832441). Who I'm trying to find is Bobby's first wife Carla Suter, who was killed on North CR 900W in a single traffic accident cira 2000-2003. She was 32 when she died, and left children. Her DR is not in SSDI.
I was just curious if you knew of Carla since you had posted Amy's memorial back then. I knew Carla in an acquaintance way back then, I would see her with her kids up at Ward's Diner (now closed) back then. Ward and Connie Suter were Carla' In-laws (and later of Amy also). I remember Carla as a very bubbly girl and very devoted to her kids.
Any, I didn't know and never met. She was ill with cancer and died young.

Diana, I refer you to the memorial of Any Suter, # 15832441, which you posted. I know the Suter family from Colfax, Ward, late wife Connie, and their twins Robert (Bobby) and Roberta. Amy was Bobby's second wife, his first was Carla, who was killed at age 32 along a Clinton County road one night, about 2002. I'm looking to find what became of her, I had an obit at one time, so I thought, but can't find it. She is not in SSDI. Would you happen to know anything about her ? Just wondering.

|Doris ||David Reginald Thompson|
Diana, on Mem # 16817411 for David Reginald Thompson the photo shows one of the children as Otto. In your memorial page it shows a child, James (md. Otto). Is Otto the child and is he married to James?
Thank you for all of the work you have done.

|Gaye Hill||RE: Salora L. WOLF|
Not related in particular - WALP is definitely not related and I was looking up all WOLF names to try and establish connections in the area.
It was just puzzle to figure out that kept me looking.
Thank you for your additions to Find A Grave.
|Gaye Hill||Salora L. WOLF|
Can you tell me the source for this memorial?
Salora L. WOLF - Find A Grave Memorial# 10590501
I have been tracking WOLF/WOLFE/WOLFF and trying to 'sort' them all out.
Today I went to the Jefferson County(IN) Library to look up this obituary, but the only one for that date was Sabra Lavina Spicer WALP - exactly the same date.
Is it possible that these are the same person?
Or - am I just crying "Wolf"?
|Chuck X||Craddock Extra|
Quite probably, as I come to think of it, Daymond Craddock was probably the twin brother to Raymond Craddock.....That would explain the identical birthdates.
Daymond is his name on the gravestone, and on the MR transcripts I found was this...
m. Ruth Hamersley (b. 19 Jan. 1914, Vermillion Co. Indiana) on 17 Feb 1934 at Clark County, Indiana
Residence Place: Paris Crossing, Jennings, Indiana
Birth Date: 17 Jun 1910
Birthplace: Hart County, Kentucky
Father's Name: James Craddock
Mother's Name: Janie Craddock
Only on the Census Listings he is rendered as "Damon" from 1920-1930, which would be a common error on the census-taker's part. On the 1940 Census, he is rendered as "Daymond", his actual name, as he is also listed in the SSDI. On the 1920 & 1930 Censuses, he is listed as the same age as Raymond. So, these are also likely Raymond's parents as well.

|Chuck X||Re: Raymond Craddock|
Here's what I have on Raymond....
b. 17 June 1910
Hart County, Kentucky
d. 19 Feb. 1983
m. Mamye Marie Marshall (b. 12 Nov. 1921, d. 21 Jan. 1981) on 23 Dec. 1944 at North Vernon, Jennings County, Indiana
The Birth date was obtained from Jeannie Holwager back in the late 70s, Birth and Death date are listed on SSDI, but not the place, only Indiana.
At the time I entered Mamye's memorial, Marci Sue told me that they had lived in Jennings County. There are a few of Craddocks listed in Vernon Cemetery in Find A Grave and nowhere else in Jennings County, so I entered her there. There are no transcriptions for this cemetery in INGENWEB, however.
But, there is this fellow in that cemetery...
17 June 1910 - 5 Oct. 1977
.....with the same birthdate. He is buried with his spouse, Ruth. He also comes up as ‘Raymond' and ‘Daymond' both, under various listings in the LDS database. Obviously, though, they are two different people.
*Raymond lists as a Nephew, single, living with Alvis Craddock, 52, and Sister Jannie Craddock, 58, on the 1940 Census, living at Dupont, Lancaster Township, Jefferson County, previous residence listed as Rural, Jennings, Indiana.
*Raymond lists as single, living with Uncle Avis Craddock, 42, Aunt Jannie Craddock, 46, Uncle Frank Craddock, 44, Grandmother Susan Craddock, 84, and Brother Damon Craddock, on the 1930 Census, living at Graham, Jefferson County, Indiana.
*Raymond lists as single, living with Uncle Avis Craddock, 32, Aunt Cora Craddock, 38, Grandmother Susan Craddock, sister Bertha Craddock and Brother Damon Craddock, on the 1920 Census, living at Union, Clark County, Indiana.
So, apparently, Raymond's parents died when he was young, or for some reason he and his siblings wasn't living with them. The 1910 Census was conducted just before his birth, so no help there.
There are only 2 entries in Find A Grave for Jefferson County for Craddock, both children from the 1870s. There are 60 Craddocks listed in Find A Grave for Hart County Kentucky, though.
Since you and George have better family contacts to family down south, maybe you could somehow contact the Craddock children (Kenneth, Erma, Ruth, Marcia, Terry, Vicki, Bonnie, Delores) and they should know where their parents are buried ? I am not definite about Vernon Cemetery, and would like to know for sure one way or the other, to know if Mamye Marie is placed in the right cemetery.
