Many times when I do Vol. photos I email them to the requesting person so they can post them along with any other info they have.

Unlike others on Find A Grave I'm not concerned about usage of documents, photos, or any info I've posted. It's not about the numbers, credits or prestige. It's about honoring those who went before us, and helping anyone searching for their ancestors, and preserving the images of the tombstones.

May I use the monument photo that you contributed to the memorial of Luther Bartholomew to post on the Vermont Civil War site? (

You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.

Paynetown Cemetery (Swain County, NC)

You had submitted a memorial for a Riter Myers buried at the Paynetown Cemetery in Swain County, North Carolina. On his memorial you indicated that according to the National Park Index he was buried in Row 4 beside Emeline Myers. Do you know where I could get a copy of this index from the National Park Service ? I along with a friend of mine are trying to identify and mark all the graves at Paynetown that are not marked.

I am sorry, I do not have any information on this family as I am not related. Could Leticia and Abbie be twins and Abbie raised by another family? Just food for thought. If you would like to manage these memorials, send me your ID number.

George Howell

There are 5 George Howells at Highland Lawn! The location you provided is an 18-month old and a 1month old baby, George Howell. The cemetery record will be vacationing for the next two weeks. Would like any clarification information? Let me know. Best wishes in your researching!

RE: Payne Town Cemty
Thank you for your kind words. People such as yourself are a a big part of why I have done this project. We are at a pivotal time in the National Parks history when many of those who lived and were born in the Park are now passing on. Sadly, much of their knowledge passes with them. For some, even their own family members do not care enough to ask. Thankfully, there are some people who are trying to document stories, people and the rich history of the Park. The cemeteries hold a lot of the history and people who should not be forgotten. Sites such as this allow family members to find and add their knowledge to the site. My goal was to make the original profiles in hopes that family members would request them and add much more than I could. I am not about ego. I am about them being remembered. I would transfer ever single profile I created to family members without a second thought. If you ever find any of your family and wish me to transfer them to you, please do not hesitate to ask.
