We've had a rough few months. Please visit the memorial of my niece Christin Cooper, 1982-2016. She left us much too soon. My mother Betty Cooper, 1932-2015. And now my father in law Charles Hall, 1930-2016.|
If you're planning to go to Mount Hope and aren't sure where your family is buried, email me ahead of time and I can send you more information, along with maps of the cemetery. Mount Hope covers a large area and it can be difficult to find a specific burial without a map.
I've completed taking pictures of Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Mo, with the exception of stones added since June 2010, and they are all online. If there wasn't a stone, I took a picture of the space. The pictures that say "space unknown" means I have the block and lot number, but not the space number so I just took a picture of the lot or of an unmarked space in the lot.
I realize that some of my pictures are not all that great, so if you'd like me to try to get a better photo, let me know. If I've made any mistakes or you'd like more information added, just let me know.
Many of the headstone pictures that I've placed on my family's memorials were actually taken by my parents. I have my Mom's permission to use hers and since my Dad's passing, his pictures are now mine. I've created virtual cemeteries for family.
It is not my intention to create duplicate memorials and I try not to but sometimes it happens. Please let me know if I have created a duplicate and I'll remove mine. And I'd appreciate it if you don't create duplicates of ones already on. I am more than happy to transfer management of the memorials I have created unless they are my family. Just click on edit on the memorial and ask for a transfer and include your relationship.
I don't mind sharing the photos I've taken for personal use but I would like to request that others do not take credit for any photos I've taken.

WOW, Kelly! Are you SWIFT or what?!!!
I sincerely appreciate your activity on this matter. I was in no way seeking to become the care-taker for the Jeffries' website, but I am willing only if it would lessen your responsibilities. Your choice. God bless you! Gene

I'm requesting an update to John Williamson Jeffries' Memorial (#42056016). His son, Guy William Jeffries (#63053045)needs to be added.
John Williamson is my Great-Grand Uncle, and Guy William is my 1st cousin twice removed.
Your helpfulness in this matter will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

There are problems with the date of birth and death of Samuel Patterson currently posted on Find A Grave. Most census i have seen, give his date of birth as ~1836. His parents were not married until 1828. Besides that the bio gives his age at death as 58 and yet on his marker it appears his age at death was 54 years, 5 months, plus ? days. If he were born on 31 July 1836 and lived to the age of 54 years, 5 months, and 1 day his actual date of death would have been 3 Jan 1891. Since there is too little evidence to say one way or another, perhaps it might be best to just not post either dates.

Hello Kelly - it's me again - could you transfer 2 other graves to me, I see you have them listed:
My Uncle Jim - James O'Donnell #55737399
My cousin Jimmy O'Donnell #55737466

I'm not really related - just a mere shoestring - he was the first husband of my Uncle Jim's second wife.
Jim divorced his wife Peggy - Helen, the widow next door stepped up to help take care of his boys, and they eventually married.
If you would like to transfer, that's fine, but I don't think I really qualify as "family."

I would be happy to remove mine. Would you mind adding the family links to yours and then I will remove mine. I understand that the older memorial has precedence. I did not realize there was a duplicate.

With your permission my I suggest some added information on Peter. "Peter, son of Abraham by his first wife, Magdelaine Gille, had three sons, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, who together went to Virginia. His second wife was Olive (or Alche or Aeltye) Cresson, a widow." There were more children from this marriage.
Source: SIX GENERATIONS OF LA RUES AND ALLIED FAMILIES, page 9.
Peter was my 6th gt. grandfather.
