Bio and Links
Bio Photo I find entering bio's and photo's and such for my family members relaxing. Nothing like a good romp in a cemetery to top off my day.
I am currently recording Sherwood Cemetery in Sherwood, MI. I am also adding a little info about the people buried there when I can find it. I am finding my information from Death Certificates on Seekingmichigan.com, Gendis.com, and sometimes the census. I also have copies of the "History of Branch County" where I may find a little info on my people. I hope this helps someone with their research and in finding their lost family members. Thank you to everyone who is leaving tokens for these people. To my knowledge I am not realated to anyone in this cemetery, but I feel like they are my family now.

I think this says it all:
They say that life is fleeting,I know that this is true.I left this world so quickly, With no goodbye to you. I know how much you miss me, Your tears fall ever light. The pillow where you lay your head, Is wet with them at night. I know your heart is hurting, The words we left, unsaid. I love you's left unspoken Are spinning in your head. The strength that I have carried, That served to make you whole. Remains to make you stronger, Within your grieving soul. For you see, while you were weeping On the day I passed away, At the gravesite near the flowers Where my loved ones knelt to pray. An angel came to see me, She took me by the hand, She led me to a kingdom In a very distant land. As I look down from the heaven, And see you standing there Your heart so ever burdened With more weight than it can bear. I long to bring you comfort, I long to give you peace, I long to hold you closely, Cause all your tears to cease. The joy I've found in heaven Goes far beyond compare. The love that's so elusive, Can be found here everywhere. The light is softly shining. There's no storm clouds here or rain. There's no tear drops found in heaven. There's no suffering, there's no pain. You needn't be so troubled, Stay close to God and pray That someday we'll be together, One bright and glorious day. So my love, you shouldn't question My dear you need not cry I've gone to be with Jesus I really didn't die.

Hi Dena,

You and Julie would be some sort of cousins. I have quite a bit of info and some photos on Harry's mothers side which would be PALMER as well as info and photos galore on Julies mothers side but that is Taylor, Crawford and several more. As far as poor old Harry, Julies mother just did a hand written tree with no dates or info. Just the names. Julie still has one more drawer of old photos to go through that she got when her mother died.

If you have dates and locations on the Garms from Harry on back, I would greatly appreciate knowing them, as well as any photos.

If you would care to give me your e-mail addy I would add you to my list of members on MyHeritage.com and you could browse around and see if there are any others that might connect us. Also, I believe you might be acquainted with Amy V. that has been doing quite a bit of work on the Oakridge cemetery in Marshall. The way it all worked out we both go back to my great great grandfather Ozias Huntley. The puter says that she and I are 3rd cousins twice removed. I'm still working on the twice removed thing.

Okay, let me know if we can help one another with this tree thing. I can scan the written Garms tree and e-mail it if you would like.
Take care,

Dar

Hi Dena,

Julie's father was HARRY PALMER GARMS and he was born near the Bellevue/Olivet area. His father was CHARLES E. "IRA" GARMS and he died in 1918. Charles was married to Gladys "Dot" Palmer.
Harry only had one brother (who was younger)whos name was Charles Garms and he died in 2000. Harry's mother, Gladys, had several sibblings but they would have been Palmer.

I will add my e-mail addy to this in the event you would like to check more on this genealogy or may have info that may further mine. I have some info on Garms that goes back four generations before Harry. Doing what you are doing with the cemeteries I am assuming you have been into your genealogy as well. If for some reason you may not have my e-mail addy, it is as follows: greyowlridge@yahoo.com .

In 2000, while visiting and helping take care of Julie's uncle who was dying of cancer and lived in the U.P., an older gentleman came to visit him. I think he may have been a distant relative. He told us that he had came to a reunion before that time and it was at the farm where you lived. He was somehow related to your garms family. I'll go through my notebooks that I always carry (never leave anything to memory) and see if I may have written down his name.

Well, I've taken more than enough of your cyberspace again, so take care and keep informing us folks.

Well, now. Your mother must be Cathy Crandall Garms and they have the farm on the West side of North Avenue about a mile North of My mom's home.

I was born and raised there and grew up with Larry and Cathy as well as the Spear family and Shepard family and the Tungate family. I went to the Court school that was at the corner North Ave. and Crandall Rd. You resemble your mother. My wife, Julie, was a Garms from the Banfield area and went to Delton schools.

I was born in 1938 so grew up with all your relatives. Thank you for letting me know who I have been working with. Tell your mom and Larry that I said hello. Take care and God bless.

Hi Dena,

Yes Ruth Stow was my mother and the Darwood with her was my dad. Until 1974 I was Darwood Mason Stow Jr. Ezra Stow and Sybil Spencer Stow were my grand parents. Justus Stow and Sarah Huntley Stow were my great grand parents.

There are so many relatives on my dad's side that we used to go every Memorial Day and decorate all the graves. I have lived in north central Arkansas for 30 years but when I get to Michigan to visit, I usually make the trek To Sherwood just to pay my respects.

I have been working on my genealogy since 1969 and have been on MyHeritage.com for about 7 years. On an offshoot from the Spencer line I go back to the 800's where the King and Queen of Sweden were my 32nd great grand parents. I'm royaly?

Take care and keep up the good work.

Hi Dena,

My name is Darwood Stow and Dr. Mason Ormsby Spencer was my great grandfather on my father's mothers side. Doc Spencer was a male as he had 4 wives. I updated his birth and name info and added a photo of him.

Thanks,

RE: Edits
I don't have any out there for me to look at so I cannot see the screen but at the bottom of your Edits it has a button that you hit which makes all of the changes automatically, without you having to edit each of them yourself. (As the requestor has actually done the edits for you.)
