Shannon - 13171015
Very interesting; I wonder what Mary Shannon, 20 years of age, was doing at the Falls of St Anthony - Minneapolis, Fort Snelling - St Paul when she caught the fever and died in 1860? Or died anyway.

I know a little about the Shannon family. Have dug through the File at MDAH. Not usually known, Mr. Shannon was Sheriff of Warren County - Vicksburg in about May 1864. Do not know what or why but he was, maybe only for one day, but regardless. He wrote his daughter Emily Crutcer from theJail.

Also, the Crutcher family get credit for creating the Vicksburg Public Libary, do not know the story.

Dear S J. I try to be interested in anything that has occurred in Vicksburg. Perhaps we get hung up on the Siege and over look other things. I notice I notice, Six, perhaps, of the Shannon children died during the Epidemic in April & May 1863. Have never heard of this event. Do you know anything about it. James Earl (Sam) Price

Hi, I accepted the changes that you made. Would you like me to transfer him to you? I'm not related to him at all so if you want me to I will.
