Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a niece of Lloyd "Pete" Herbert Hughes, who was a Medal of Honor Recipient. Researching his life has been an honor and a privilege. Here are his crew members of the "Ole Kickapoo."

I adopted the Bodan Cemetery in Pollok, Angelina County, Texas, USA because of the many relatives of mine who are buried there. About 40% of those buried there are related to me.

You have my permission to use the grave marker photographs I have uploaded in any genealogy project. They are not one-of-a-kind photographs. You certainly do not, however, have my permission to use my photographs of family members in some money making scheme. Don't laugh, it has already been tried - and stopped.

That which was lost has been found! My third great grandparents are buried in Kuehn Cemetery which had been mislocated.

Registered on 9 Jul 2001 when there were 2.5 million memorials. Created my first memorial on 29 Jul 2001.

Miller - duplicated memorials
That cemetery changed it's name a while back and that did create some confusion when looking up memorials. These 2 are brother and sister inlaw of my grandmother so I requested transfer from the other contributors, if they are not related. One kindly and quickly transferred her memorial - the other has not as yet.I am still working on getting this straight - before deleting the other memorials.

Mary Perry Myers
The death records for both Mary Myers and Susana Perry place their burials in Alligator Cemetery...not Long Prairie Cemetery. The other contributor has created memorials without verifying the correct location. Please contact the other contributor to remove their mistake. Thank you.

Pate-Lee
Re: Rose-Neath photo request for Clifford & Margaret Pate, and Gene Pate Lee.

Final photography has been uploaded to memorials. During photography I made a discovery. Specialist William B. Pate, Sr., US Army their son's military marker is on the reverse side of Clifton C., and Margaret Payne Pate's marker. I created a memorial, completed photography, and linked him to his parents.

Regards.

Otis George Downey
Memorial #33045312

I have come across some photos that may be of Otis. I was wondering if you are a relative??? I am assuming that he is still living. My father passed and while going thru his Navy photos I found several of Otis G. Downey.

Thanks, Sandy

RE: Burial: Unknown
I kind of agree with you in that when memorials are made with nothing but a name and sometimes not even a birth place or death place just for the sake to record another memorial, I feel you are correct and that is what Find-a-Grave does not wish to happen. What I try to do is give a lot of information on every memorial I make or I won't make one on a person. On this one Giles Tompkins I give the history written about him in Albermarle Co. and all his kin plus I do state that he is most probably buried on his property or his son's but there are no markers. I live just a couple of counties away and still hope that he is found one day. So, are the rules really meant for the memorials like Mr Giles Tompkins? His descendants are spread out from coast to coast and they may be able to find him one day with our help. He lived a long and meaningful life, most likely spoke with Thomas Jefferson on occasion

Pate-Lee
Re: Rose-Neath photo request for Clifford & Margaret Pate, and Gene Pate Lee.

Today I successfully photographed all. Cloudy day has rendered markers shadowless with great detail.

I will upload Wed. May 1st due to computer issues.

RE: Thank you!
I have all the names added that had military service
listed on the Floyd County Museum's cemetery list.

There are a few hundred more names scribed in the
memorial stones. I took photos of these and will
send these photos to you if you would like to work
on them. I am in the process of adding grave marker
photos to memorials in the Floydada Cemetery and
Floyd County Memorial Park. This will keep me
busy for some time as there are a few thousand photos to process.

Thanks,
cj

Duplications
Thank you showing me what you thought were duplicate memorials for Nolan and Velma Miller. What actually happened was that I had created memorials for them under the original name of Capital Memorial Gardens - whick was correct until that cemetery changed their name in later years :- I have requested that the memorials in this same cemetery under it's new name be transferred to me since I am related.
