I am a member of the Limestone Co. Historical Society. We are trying to save the old section of the New Garden Cemetery near Elkmont,AL. Many of the tombstones are in danger of being lost because of the destruction caused by vehicles running into this cemetery. We are seeking help in the restoration of this very old cemetery with a rich history. Many of those buried here are connected with the New Garden Cumberland Presbyterian Church and were early settlers in our county before it was Alabama or soon after. If you have an ancestor buried here, you might be interested in getting more information from this website limestonecountyhistoricalsociety.org

Margaret McNeely
Margaret McNeely, buried in New Garden is an ancestor.

I have received a transfer of ownership of her husband's grave (William McNeely) in Giles County, TN. Will you transfer ownership of Margaret's to me?

Thanks for the work you have done on this cemetery.

RE: McWilliams
Vining Descendent with background in film. Having fun taking pictures and using digital restoration methods to get dates, names etc on otherwise unrecognizeable graves. Been looking for major Thomas Vining of Athens who died in 1826. The old city cemetery next to house hasn't come up with anything. Trouble finding graves pre 1831. His son John Vining is believed to be at stateline next to the church. We found Rebecca Mckee Vining only. We had a picture of Charles Vining in 2006 taken from there however his headstone has apparently disappeared when we went to check.

RE: Old New Garden Cemetery
Your right about her last name being Glaze. I took all the photos in the old side and could not find Andrew. I'm actually here till Monday. Some stones were unidentifiable.
