I was born August 29, 1943 in Powell, Wyoming. I joined the US Navy in 1963 and spent 2 years in Southeast Asia in the Philippines and Vietnam. I then attended the U of Colorado for a year and a half under the NESEP program and was then transfered to Europe for 4 years, stationed at Rota, Spain. After that I was sent to Washington D.C. for 4 years. At that time I retired and attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma, where I attained a BS in Mortuary Science. I owned and operated two funeral homes, one in Moline, Kansas, and the other in Sedan, Kansas, for 26 years. I retired from the business in 2001. I am currently residing in Wichita, Kansas, and am an accountant for Wal Mart Corp.|
I am married, the father of two daughters. I have traced my ancestry back several centuries and am still in the process of chasing down my brickwalls.
As a former funeral director, I find cemeteries fascinating and love to contemplate past lives and histories of the families there.
I am more than happy to make corrections and add relationship links but am curtailing (not stopping) transferring memorials due to growing misunderstanding of what Find A Grave is about by those discovering the site for the first time. The time members have put into their efforts working together and sharing information is not up for grabs based on same-name surname or lineage and I will not do any of these type of transfers.

I just want to let you know how nice Ellen was. She was the iconic "old lady" in the "spooky house" in our neighborhood on Fairmount street, Wichita. Though we were afraid of her when we were very young due to her old age, we enjoyed her when we got older. Her house was a required subject to sketch in some of the Wichita State University art classes. We would see a row of students seated on the curb across the street sketching away in nice weather. We just hated that the house was taken down. It was so sad when her brother was taken away, she was very distraught.

This memorial was created by you. I made a request for a picture of AJS's military grave marker in Little Rock National Cemetery. According to the volunteer there is no record in the data base for AJS in this cemetery. Can you give me any information of how you knew he was in this cemetery?

Del, can you please link John Brogan #22558050 to his last two children, who were twins. Edna Mary Brogan, #38817178 and Edward John #38817133. Thank you. Mike Brogan in Wichita.
Thanks for fixing that, Del. I had visions of everyone taking it for fact and confusing the Hennighs completely.

|psb||Robert Daniel Hennigh|
The Robert Daniel Hennigh that you have the memorial for in Kansas was not Robert Daniel, but just Daniel Hennigh. He was the FATHER of the Robert Daniel Hennigh who married Osa J. Jennings. After Osa's 1922 death, Robert Daniel married Alta abt 1929. They lived in Nebraska and can be found in both the 1930 and 1940 Nebraska censuses. Robert and Alta had no children. He died in 1940 and is buried in the Bingham cemetery in Bingham, Nebraska. Alta died in 1991 and is also buried in Nebraska. She did not remarry after Robert Daniel's 1940 death.
