Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have loved cemeteries ever since a child when I went with my Grandmother and she told me about all the people and their lives.

My dream would be to have all the memorials I have entered to be claimed by family. I will be happy to transfer memorials to you.

I am interested in the Civil War NYS Volunteers --the 189th Regiment and the 8th Heavy Artillery

RE: Elizabeth Orrū
Thank you! I may be sending more your way as I have a lot of obituaries from a old scrapbook and you appear to be the lucky person who added them to Find A Grave.

Caroline,
I didn't expect you to transfer this memorial to me as I am not related to her. I will transfer her memorial back to you.

I tried to use the delete key at the end of the text, but it was taking so long that I went to the bottom of the page and kept clicking on the back button until the text appeared. Thanks for your help.

Thank you for adding the Timeline I researched for Lydia Ann Wyman.

May I suggest you go to her bio edit on the line just below my text and click the delete button to remove the blank spaces below the text. I find that helps.

In which state do you currently reside? It's only about 17 miles from where our summer home is on Waneta Lake to Wheeler.
Thanks,
Buddy

RE: Nellie May
Hi Caroline,
The Strattons and Nellie Stratton May aren't my family, most of which are in Missouri and Colorado. I took the photo of John and Ella Stratton's headstone because I was curious about him being a War Veteran. Born in 1864, his most likely major War would be the Spanish-American War. There were also a number of wars vs Indians and other minor campaigns that would qualify him as a War Veteran, but I couldn't find anything to back that up in Ancestry.com. Do you have any information on John Stratton's service?

On another subject, I notice that you have duplicate Memorials for Nellie. Memorial# 61458385 is the earlier of the two, but your Memorial# 61752129 has all the good info. Perhaps the former should be deleted.

I see that you are interested in and have virtual cemeteries for 189th NYS Volunteers, 189th NYS Volunteers Company C, and 8th NYS Heavy Artillery. I have come across some of those Veterans in my work. Here are three from Tyrone Union Cemetery that will be of interest:
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsr=1961&GScid=66520&GRid=117649708&
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsr=521&GScid=66520&GRid=119303269&
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSsr=401&GScid=66520&GRid=117518031&

Finally, there were reportedly two CSA marker/flag holders in Tyrone Union Cemetery that have recently disappeared. We hope to find any CSA veterans buried there. There are many CSA veterans buried in Woodlawn National Cemetery , Elmira, New York. Rumor has it that quite a few were buried on Pulver Hill just north of Tyrone, New York.

Best, Buddy Leech

Please note that the death date you typed is in error. Just a typo I'm sure, but N Floyd Hubbard died in 1950 not 1952.
