Bio Photo Recent trip to Hunter Cemetery, Maury Co. Mt. Pleasant, Tn. Two large trees have fallen and one missed the McGee memorial by about 2ft. Another tree fell and has destroyed the ts of Richard Stockard and about 6 others around it.
Wayne Austin and I are trying to get volunteers to go there and moved the trees and repair the stones that are damaged/destroyed. Any suggestion on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. A photo on the memorial of Richard Stockard will show part of the damage.

Born and raised in Lewis and Maury County, Tennessee. Member of the National Society of Children of the American Revolutionary War.

Maury Co., Tn has many historical cemeteries. Many Rev. War soldiers are buried in Maury Co./Lewis Co. Tn., also many Civil War Generals, War of 1812, and their soldiers.

Cemetery preservation is very important to me and I try to list from actual cemetery visits and various book listings. I have been working with Wayne Austin for the last 10 years as a volunteer contributor for his project.
Please, e-mail me with any corrections or additional information that needs to be posted at any Maury County Cemetery where you see my name via the edit option on the memorial.

If I have posted a close relative of yours let me know and I will transfer. Please use the edit option on the memorial for updates, corrections and questions, my responce will be much faster, I don't have to look up the memorial by name that way.

The dates certainly ARE different. I feel that the DC is correct because of the parents' names. The marker was put up later....or that marker is for someone with the same name. ??? Thank you for sharing this!

RE: Leo Cerino
My husband has been wanting to find out more about the owner of his gun for quite a while. After finding this memorial today - it was so cool to read it and know more about him. We don't want to give up the gun, but just want to know more about him and how it came home with him. It's very unusual that an enlisted man came home with his service weapon.

Thank you for your help.

Need to get a message to a family member of Lee Cerino
Hello there.

We would like to get in touch with a family member of Lee Cerino. We have been trying to locate him for years and are saddened to find that he has passed. We have Lee's service weapon from when he was stationed in Korea.

You can reach my husband Jay at yourhere7@yahoo.com

Hello,

I'm Hilda's daughter, Brenda. I just saw your question regarding my mother and her parents (James and Ruby Sharp) and her sister (Linda G. Sharp Yates)that you asked on 1-18-09. Since you are from Columbia, I assume we must be related :)
I would love to know if you knew my mother, grandparents and my Aunt Linda.

Thanks,
Brenda Overstreet

RE: Mitchell Webb Boshers
You're welcome. Unfortunately, some photos are not as good as others, I try to put better photos on the page, though sometimes, I do go overboard and the picture I put is only a little better. Mainly, I try to make sure it can easily be read, and the one that was there, I thought, was not as readable.

As far as the duplicate, I know the lady and I'm sure if you ask, she would remove it. Right now, she's trying to do all of Rose Mount Cemetery, having gotten done with Rose Hill. That's why I stay away from that place, even though it's a few blocks from my house. Besides, I'm working on Pincrest, which mean a lot of work. I'm still finding information for Mars Hill in Marshall County (as opposed to Lawrence) - I'm almost done with the "C"s. I'm at that point where I'm doing the ones with a lot of names: Mars Hill, Hunter, then Pinecrest.

I still have to do Johnson Cemetery, but I'm waiting for them to combine the two so I can remove my duplicates. I didn't think the Johnson Cemetery that was in Find-A-Grave was the one I went to, because the map was WAYYYYYYY off. Now I pay for the problem.

RE: McLean clan
Hi Mary Bob,
I ordered that book using Amazon.com and I just checked and see it is still available in several formats (reproductions) as well as Kindle. I see that Google Books has a site showing it available from other sources. Sometimes I find transcriptions or copies of books that I can read on Google Books, but oftentimes, some pages and the pix are missing.

Glad to hear again from you. The VANCE line that married into your line of McClain also married into my LUSK / AGEE line (the COLVILLEs are part of it). My connection is Ambrose Ambers AGEE who married Elizabeth LUSK. Their son William AGEE b 1814 TN (in father's will and Mother's bible) married a HARVEY and their daughter Sarah Catherine AGEE b 1842 East TN married 1857 Lawrence Co AR to John Henry McLAIN (b 1835-37 Weakley Co TN) ...John Henry & Sarah AGEE McLAIN are my gg grandparents. Their son Wm David McLAIN b 1859 Lawrence Co AR is my great grandfather in his marriage to Clara COOPER. Their daughter Audrey is my maternal grandmother b 1900 AR.

This line tracks to our brickwall Charles McCLAIN b circa 1780 in ? to ? who married Eliabeth UNK. He died 1846 Weakley Co TN. I descend on the line of his son Charles Jr (I DNA tested a gg grandson) and others tested descend on the line of John McCLAIN a brother to Charles Jr...both born about same timeframe 1805-1806. We have learned some deeper ancestry due to the genealogy of our DNA matches...very interesting...but I wish we could crack the brickwall on the senior Charles. ---------------Audrey in East TN
