I have been working on my family history since I started with my grandma Hazel (Taylor) McKinney in 1971. She started when she was in the 6th grade, and all of my childhood we went to visit all of the extended family graves on Memorial Day and I grew up hearing stories of all of them.
I started uploading genealogical information when the RootsWeb free site was first established. I have worked with too many fellow contributors to mention, but appreciate each and every one.
I transfer the majority of my completed pages to findagrave or my gen-partner "Donna" to manage, to make it fair for everyone. I am still able to do updates to the pages that way. Findagrave and I have worked together for over 13 years, and they have been very cooperative with my helping to make this a great site.
I am working to add my name and findagrave link to research I have done so that even if someone else is managing the page, people know who to go to if they have further questions about the information. If the current page owner deletes that credit, it doesn't hurt to write to me anyway, in case I was the one who did the research.
Words cannot express how much my own work has been dependent on the generous gift of time and legwork of our volunteer photographers, and other researchers. I hope you enjoy what I have tried to accomplish through these many years.
Folks, PLEASE use the "edit" link on the memorial page to send corrections, and add info. It is quicker and more efficient. If you do need to email me, PLEASE include findagrave number of the memorial page in question. There are many duplications of family names. Because of bad experience, I do not give permission to any other web site to use my photos, especially the photos of individual people. Of course family members are welcome to use them in their private files. Newbies, know that if you use the "edit" system to contact me, you will need to physically give me your email in that post if you want me to email you back, because it is not included automatically. *by Lila Cole
