Bio and Links
Bio Photo In my genealogical research whenever I come cross a veteran of a war I check to see if he/she has a FAG memorial whether they are my ancestors or not. If there is not a memorial I create one if the burial location is known. If there is an existing memorial but military service is missing or scanty I do a bit of research and request the info be added to the veteran's bio. These brave veterans contributed much to the history of their country and to our freedom. It is very rewarding to remember these fine patriots.

Joseph S Sawyer
You sent me a correction to add Apphia T. Aldrich as his wife. Could you give me the source of your information. I am not finding that anywhere. There are so many Joseph S Sawyers, it is hard to figure out which one is married to who, unless there is a parents name attached. Thank you, have a great day.

Burnham relations
Hello,

My husbands' ancestors on his father's side are Burnham's from Maine, I think there is a connection. Would love to correspond with you. Are Burnham's a direct ancestor of your family?

RE: Gen John Nixon #63592552
Well, I found the same picture posted as General John Nixon on an online encyclopedia-type website. You'll be happy to know I emailed them to let them know of their error! They also have a biography of the OTHER John Nixon, go figure! If you are interested, http://virtualology.com/apjohnnixon/

Further to my first message - I see that, had she been born in 1690, she would have been 12 years older than her husband (unlikely) and 51 when her last child was born. I wonder if the ABGI record should have been 1699, and was typed 1690, in error?

Re birth date of about 1703, the only published date I have found, outside of individual family trees, is about 1690, as published in the American Genealogical-Biographical Index - A genealogical dictionary of the first settlers of New England, showing three generations of those who came before May, 1692. By James Savage. Boston. 1861. (4v.)v.2:543 (specifically, Vol. 90, p. 445). I have also seen the date 1705 in some family trees, but do now know where that date originated. Perhaps it had to do with her marriage date as shown in Fred Mason SAR membership application of 27 June 1725 (documented source unknown by me). That would have made her 35 at age of marriage, if born in 1690.
