I'm retired and drive a lot of dog rescue/ transport miles. My usual routes are west from Little Rock, AR to Tulsa, OK and up through Kansas City to Iowa. If I can help you with your pix, do let me know---as you can see, I'm very mobile.|

Ann, thank you for offering to transfer the Sparks family to me but you did the work and such a nice job at that, you keep them. They are descended from my 3rd-great-grandfather and his second wife. I sincerely appreciate your time.

Thats really cool! If my sources are correct Thomas is my great great grandpa. :) my email is email@example.com if youd like to chat that way. I think it would be really neat to compare notes!

I do not have any relationship to Rosemary and do not know any of her relatives you might contact. Sorry.
Good Luck on your search.

Hi Ann - yes, I denied the name change to Castor - as I mentioned in the denial every primary record has the name Caster - actual photocopy of marriage record (available through familysearch.com), death record (Washington State Archives), funeral home record, and many, many references in local Monroe paper (viewable and searchable online - see resources at monroehistoricalsociety.org ), so I see no reason to go with Castor even if someone did misspell it that way. Washington records show no Castor deaths in 1927 - a handy trick though, if you can alter your death by changing spelling - don't think I'll try it - could take several years off my life!
|Charles Robin Rauch||LYDIA OAKES ROBBINS-CASTOR|
I SENT A NOTE TO CHERI AND GAVE HER THE OTHER WASHINGTON MEMORIAL NUMBER. HOPE TO HEAR BACK FROM HER. THE DAUGHTER OF PORTER NEIL AND LYDIA IS BERTHA MAY ROBBINS, WHO MARRIED KENT WESSELS WARD AND IS OUR 1ST COUSIN, 1 X REMOVED. I HAVE LOCATED TWO OF THEIR CHILDREN, AGAIN IN WASHINGTON. ALSO SHOWING IS THAT LYDIA AND WILLIAM LEROY WERE MARRIED DEC. 15, 1909 IN BENTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS AND MIGRATED TO SUMMIT, IDAHO BY FEB. 1, 1910.
I DO THINIK WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK WITH BEING DUPLICATES.
WE ALSO NOTICED THE OAKES AND OAKS SPELLINGS, WHICH I HAVE FOUND IS VERY COMMOM, BUT MAKES IT HARDER TO KNOW FOR SURE OF DESCENDANTS.
HAVE YOU LIVED IN BELLA VISTA LONG?
WE LIVED THERE FROM 1951-1959 AT THE OLD HOMESTEAD OF MY GREAT-GRANDMOTHER, LUVENIA PALESTINE (EDWARDS) 'TINE' HOWARD. THE PROPERTY ABUTTED JUST NORTH OF THE OLD CUNNINGHAM DAIRY FARM. SADIE CUNNINGHAM WAS A LONG TIME RESIDENT OF BELLA VISTA. THEY MOVED FROM KANSAS IN ABOUT 1906. SADIE WAS MY MOTHER'S SCHOOL TEACHER AT THE DUG HILL SCHOOL. ALSO, MY UNCLE MANCE HOWARD WAS THE TEACHER FOR SADIE. MANCE WAS THE SON OF MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER, TINE AND WILSON HOWARD. TINE IS BURIED AT DUG HILL AND WILSON IS BURIED AT THE RICKETTS CEMETERY WITH HIS FIRST WIFE, ADELINE (EDWARDS) HOWARD. ADELINE IS THE SISTER OF TINE. ADELINE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE DIED IN CHILDBIRTH AND LATER WILSON MARRIED TINE.
MY MOTHER, EVELYN PEARL ROBBINS, GRAND DAUGHTER OF TINE , WAS BORN AT PINION HOLLOW, WITH EDWARDS /JACKSON KIN BORN IN THE AREA OF DUG HILL.
SADIE'S HOME WAS WHERE THE CUNNINGHAM CORNER AREA IS NOW. SADIE WAS A DEAR, LIFELONG FRIEND TO ALL OUR FAMILIES AND HAD A WONDERFUL KNOWLEDGE OF RESIDENTS OF BENTON COUNTY.
I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED IF I HEAR FROM CHERI.
I THINK ABOUT HALF OF THE PEOPLE FROM MISSOURI TO ARKANSAS ARE KIN IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER!!
|Charles Robin Rauch||RE: Lydia Oakes Robbins Cast?r's memorial|
HI ANN: THIS IS CONFUSING. LYDIA OAKES WAS MARRIED ALSO TO MY GREAT UNCLE, PORTER NEIL 'PORT' ROBBINS ON MEMORIAL # 41076 8324.
RECORDS SHOW THE SURNAME AS BOTH "CASTOR' AND 'CASTER".
I DO THINK THAT BOTH MEMORIALS ARE DUPLICATES, BUT NOT POSITIVE.
I THINK THAT THE SPELLING OF 'CASTOR' IS CORRECT, BECAUSE WILLIAM LEROY "CASTOR" WAS THE SON OF THOMAS GRATTON CASTOR AND MARILLA LEE KELLER CASTOR. MARILLA LEE KELLER WAS THE DAUGHTER OF PETER KELLER AND MARY SNYDER KELLER.
ANDREW PERRY KELLER WAS THE SISTER OF MARILLA KELLER AND ANDREW WAS FIRST MARRIED TO MY 2ND GREAT AUNT, ANN MIRA 'ANNA' EDWARDS KELLER. ANDREW DIED JAN. 15, 1882 IN BENTON COUNTY. ANN THEN MARRIED GEORGE LEACH. HE DIED IN 1885. SHE THEN MARRIED JOHN W. SULLIVAN, JR. AND MOVED TO KANSAS. ANN MIRA IS ON MEMORIAL # 3706 9301.
CHERI IS MY 4TH COUSIN OF OUR OAKES FAMILY. HER GRANDMOTHER WAS WAS ANNA MAUDE OAKES LEATON.ON HER MEMORIAL FOR LYDIA, I LEFT A MESSAGE ABOUT THE OTHER 'CASTER' MEMORIAL BY DEXTER FOR THE MEMORIAL IN WASHINGTON, BUT HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM HER IF SHE THINKS THE TWO MEMORIAL ARE THE SAME PERSON. CHERI DOES HAVE MORE OAKES FAMILY INFORMATION THAN I HAVE.
ALSO, MARY ELNORA CASTOR, ALSO THE DAUGHTER OF THOMAS GRATTON CASTOR AND MARILLA LEE KELLER CASTOR MARRIED JOHN WESLEY OAKES. JOHN WESLEY AND MARY ELNORA ARE THE PARENTS OF ANNA MAUDE OAKES AND ANNA IS THE SISTER OF RUTH HELENE 'AUNT RUTH' 'TUPPY' (OAKES) BOLING.
BEFORE THE MEMORIALS ARE MERGED, I WILL SEND ANOTHER NOTE TO CHERI TO SEE WHAT SHE THINKS, SINCE THE OAKES ARE HER DIRECT LINE.
ALSO, NEAR THE OAKES CEMETERY IS THE POST OAK CEMETERY WHERE MEMBERS OF OUR 'WRIGHT' FAMILY ARE BURIED. CONTINUING FROM THERE GOING TOWARD BENTONVILLE IS THE RICKETTS CEMETERY WHERE ARE HOWARD AND RELATED FAMILIES ARE BURIED. THE RICKETTS CEMETERY IS EAST OF BENTONVILLE GOING ON CENTRAL STREET WHICH IS THE STREET SOUTH OF THE COURT HOUSE THEN EAST ABOUT 2 MILES AND THEN THE 1ST STREET GOING NORTH BEFORE THE BRIDGE ON SUGAR CREEK. THE CEMETERY WHEN I WAS THERE DID NOT HAVE A SIGN, BUT MAY NOW. IT IS ATOP THE HILL GOING EAST. YOU HAVE TO CROSS THE CREEK BED TO GET TO IT. I WAS TOLD THE PROPERY WAS SOLD TO THE CITY OF BENTONVILLE AND HOPEFULLY THEY WILL ERECT A FENCE AND SIGN. CATTLE WERE ALLOWED TO ROAM AND HEADSTONES HAVE BEEN BROKEN AND TURNED OVER.
THANK AGAIN, ANN. I WILL LET YOU KNOW IF I HEAR ANYTHING BACK FROM CHERIE.
BEST REGARDS, CHARLIE.
