I am one of the many members of my family interested in Genealogy.
As a little girl I enjoyed writing down all of my family members names and birth dates including cousins. I collected Funeral Cards and obits. I liked knowing everything. I started hardcore research in 2000 while living in Florida even though I was born and raised in Indiana. I am now back in Indiana and can further investigate my lines. My father has been researching prior to me for the last 40 or so years. I enjoy the interesting people I meet and the information that I find. I am a Mother of 3 and Grandmother of 6.
Anyone wanting information on the lines that are directly linked to me can contact me through my message board here.
I currently have about 27,000 names in my family tree, all connected to the Rock/Shockey, Loveless/Kerfoot Line which connect together through my grandparents. I am a descendant of John and Catherine McClellan Rock, Aaron and Nancy Sproul Gordon, Johann Cristoffel Schake [Shockey], John and Rachel Van Hook Loveless, George W Sr and Lucy Stith Kerfoot, William and Martha McClay Tippin and John H and Mary Long Sellers, Harrison and Mary Penrod Sparger, Jonathan B and Rebecca Reynolds Rice on my father's side and James and Eva Thompson Graham and Charles and Bertha Wilson Hulett on my mother's side.
Most of the memorials that I have added are related to me somehow, however I have added a few Memorials for local Tippecanoe, Clinton, Boone, Benton and Warren Co, Indiana cemeteries. If you find a memorial that is from your line just ask and as long as I am not connected I will do transfers. To me its not about numbers...its about Family! I believe that everyone should be remember...whether they have a tombstone or not. I would like to eventually mark my family graves that do not have markers, even if its a small engraved stone...just something that says "Hey I was here. I lived my life and now I am gone. Do not forget me".
PS. The picture is me at about 3 months. I was the first born granddaughter to Ina Mae Graham Nydegger and my dress said "Grandmas Little Sweetheart"

|Wanda (Kriner) Mixell||David Shockey|
As there seems to be a question as to who the parents of my grandfather David Shockey (birth 1807, wife was Mary (Polly) Helman) were, could you tell me where you arrived at that conclusion. The Shockey geneology seems to think he was the son of Isaac and Mary, but I think by looking at census reports it is more probable that Jacob and Eva were his parents, any help would be greatly appreciated.
|Karleen Phillips||Zebulon Cantrell d. May 1847|
Could you please give the information you might have on the calculated relationships between Zebulon and sons Levi and William?
You have put so much work into your site. Thank you so much.
I am a Shockey Descendant from Johan Cord Shacke 1700, Johann Christoffel Shacke 1715, John Aaron Shockey Sr 1743, John Aaron Shockey Jr 1764, James B Shockey 1791, Thomas Porter Shockey 1833, Lucy Delvina Shockey 1890. I would appreciate any information you might have about the Shockey line. I just found my relation to the Shockey's recently I am very curious.
|Michael Miller||RE: Grace Upton Photo Request|
Just an FYI she is buried next to her mother Sarah Umfleet Upton Plummer, Sarah's grave is marked, Grace's is not.
Regarding the record in Shedd Cemetery, Fayette County, Illinois, for Sarah Shockey, who died in January 1871 was the wife of William H. Shockey...unless there was a first marriage that I am not aware of, the maiden name Alexander is not correct. Her name is Sarah Elizabeth Kelley, born in Hampshire County Virginia, the daughter of Henry Kelley and Delina Shipley. I know this from an 1868 deed in which Sarah and her husband William Shockey sold their rights to her father's land in West Virginia to her mother Delina. Sarah named a daughter Margaret "Delina" in honor of her mother. The middle name "Nelson" is in honor of her brother, Hiram Nelson Kelley.

Harry Walter Shockey is listed as my dad's father on his birth certificate. I'm just looking for some information about the Shockey family. I didn't know anything about this until I was in my 50s. So I am curious and have questions. The people that I know will have answers are all dead, so any help would be appreciated. Not looking for anything other than some potential new family members. My grandmothers name was Bertha Peterson. My dads name was richard Theodore Peterson on his birth certificate, but was changed to Slaybaugh sometime in his childhood
I happen to be reading a book by a James Birney Shaw called History of the Tenth regiment Indiana volunteer infantry, and on page 79 I learned of a Samuel H Shortle who was involved in the Civil War and decided to look him up on Findagrave and pay my respects, and that's when I found you! :) (Hopefully, someday, I will find the time to post the information about Captain Samuel H Shortle (130778651) because it is very endearing!)
I couldn't help but notice your family information because so many names stood out to me, i.e., Shaw being that his book has brought so much to light for me! I noticed that you have some family named Shaw, and couldn't help but wonder if there is some connection for you there. I do not believe I am related to any Shaws, but I am related to some Dyers and Wells, and my imagination ran wild seeing both of these names on your profile! Someday, perhaps, we can exchange notes?
I thank you for all the work that you do, and I hope you have a wonderful holiday!

|Carolann Arthur||Clinton War Memorial - A.J. Arthur|
While researching some of my ARTHUR family I came across the following information for A.J. Arthur (listed on the memorial). I know of no family connections with him, but thought you might want to add some of this info to his individual memorial at Find A Grave. Memorial#130776501.
Thank you for all you are doing to fill in some of the gaps of these fine men!
