RE: August & Amelia Franz photos
I almost listed him as unmarked. I had taken a photo of Amelia and the area around her to put on to show he was unmarked. But, then I went back to the car and got a tire iron to probe the ground. I pushed the tire iron almost all the way into the ground when I hit the headstone. He was pretty deep. I found another one later that day. I was covered with mud from head to toe. It was also cold and raining. But, that is was Find A Grave addicts do!

RE: Effie Pitman 102982479
Hi Bob~
I have good news. I had the cemetery office take me out to Effie grave so that I could photograph the grass and we found that she does actually have a stone. The stone is listed under a different last name. Her name is clearly on the stone too. I have posted it.

I have confirmed with Mills & Mills and that Effie Pitman does not a headstone. Would you like a photo of the grave site grass?

Floyd Pittman
Hello again,

In reply to your second contact;

I did not take the original photo of the Pittman's headstone, and therefore I do not "own" that photo and I do not have the rights to publish that photo by copying and posting it on my Pittman memorial(s) on Find A Grave.

The other idea you proposed about Floyd's burial is an unknown. That is, who is to say exactly where his body is actually buried? It appears the simple fact is ... the marker you brought to my attention is a cenotaph and/or the memorial I posted is a cenotaph and therefore, both are valid (regardless of the actual final resting place) according to the Find A Grave rules and guidelines copied and posted directly below.

"What is a cenotaph? How do I have a memorial designated as a cenotaph?

A cenotaph is a tomb or a monument erected in honor of a person or group of persons whose remains are buried elsewhere. It can also be the initial marker for a person who has since been interred elsewhere.
To add a cenotaph, create a memorial just like any other. Then email with a link to the memorial and a message to mark it as a cenotaph."

Hopefully this will address your concerns....
