RE: Re: Bailey's
Kim,

I'm sorry I didn't see your note till after I wrote you the previous one about Frederick Hallock 861396.

You wrote: "Would you like me to transfer these memorials to you"

You know that would probably be the easiest way to do it! If you take the four on the 'Family Stone' then I can sort them out and it'll be easier then going back and forth with SACs. The four are:

Barton D. Hallock, 86139610
Cordelia B. Hallock, 86139630
Mary M. Hallock, 86139648
Frederick Hallock, 86139694

And that way the photos you took will be preserved. Lastly, why couldn't the stone carvers have put 'Bailey - Hallock' on one line, then they would have had space for FULL NAMES on the bottom of the stone? Look at the photo and you will think the same thing!

Frederick Hallock 86139694
Hi Tink,

Your Frederick Hallock memorial # 86139694 is actually Frederick M Bailey. Not realizing you had entered a memorial for him, I created one today with family links etc. Then I suggested you link his wife to the new memorial, and made name corrections for her too.

What a mess!

Could I beg you to move your stone photos over to # 138708210 which is the new page?

Or if you prefer, would you take the family links and correct name from my # 138708210 and apply them to your # 86139694 ?

Your call, let me know which you prefer or implemented.

Thanks,
Tom Vought

lackawanna Co, PA
In my research I have come across a lot of your photos in PA & NY. I have been helping my Aunt track down stones carved by "Open Urn", a name she gave him. He has many stones in NY (Chenango, Broome, Tioga, Chemung). In the last 2 months we have found over 60 stones so far in PA (Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Wayne & Pike). He seems to have traveled as far south as Rt. 6, along the river.

The stones are dated from early 1800's to 1826. An example would be Mr. Lacey, # 17206150. There are 5 other family members in that cemetery with his stones. He has many in Wysox, New Milford, Lynn & Wyalusing to name a few.

My question for you is: Have you seen any sandstone grave markers in Lackawanna Co. from this time period? I have scrolled through every cemetery listed on Find A Grave in this county and have only found 3 stones from a different carver. (The carver has a very fancy "W" in his "who died"). I just find it amazing that there are only marble markers.
