DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND MY CONTROL, I NO LONGER HAVE INTERNET OR EMAIL (AT HOME), I WILL STILL BE ADDING MEMORIALS-TRANSFERS-CORRECTIONS ON TWO OTHER COMPUTERS.
PLEASE LEAVE ALL MESSAGES HERE. Be sure to include your contributor ID #.
Ancestors & relatives never really go away, they get buried, cremated or vaulted in a sacred place for us to visit and remember. After all, where would we be without our ancestors? As much as it hurts to lose a loved one, we must be thankful for the time we had together. These memorials in FIND A GRAVE are growing by a million a month and make it easier for the world to find & see the memorials of their loved ones. Through these memorials, they live on.
Passionate is an understatement, Genealogy & Cemeteries are a big part of my life. Have 35 years of sometimes obsessive research under my belt. I'm one of the very few volunteers for Madison County, NY which is 662 square miles with 285 Cemeteries and endless hills (up to 1800 ft) & valleys, so go easy on me folks.
Genealogically I picked up where my Grandfather and his father left off. I specialize in Madison County, NY and surrounding areas and Warren County, NY. If you find your relative in my memorials and would like transfers or to add bios, or corrections let me know. All my photos are free for distribution.
Though it feels like "good-bye", we know that in reality, for those of us who have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ it is merely, "see-you-later"
Taphophilia is a interest for and enjoyment of cemeteries. Taphophilia involves epitaphs, gravestone rubbing, photography, art, and history of deaths. The singular term is a taphophile.

|Beryl Meehan||RE: Covert Ancestry|
Have you done a DNA test? Would be really great to see if we are actually relatives.
I have tested with www.23andme.com but if you have tested with another company (ancestry or familytree)we can probably still compare data.
|Beryl Meehan||John A Covert|
just re-read your posting on this site naming John's father as William, mother Mercy. Do you know her family name?
just realized that it would appear that William was that your William Covert was likely that who attended estate auction sale of his uncle, John Covert, who d 1818.
Probably same as the William Covert who died May 1841. - Ref. Obit. Lycoming Gazette p 2 on May 3, 1841.

|Beryl Meehan||RE: Covert, John A|
Can you give me a bit more info on your person - like where he was born, a wife's name, children?
From the will and probate data:
John Covert of Turbot Twp, Northumberland Co, PA having written his will 6 December 1817, died January 1818. Mathias Webb and Daniel Scudder applied for application for probate on 19th January 1818; but note that the executors who were named in the will were Adam Folmer and Thomas Pollock. Surviving John was his widow Ruth and living sons Morris, Philip, Enoch, Elisha, James and living daughters Polly Ann and Phoebe). Daughter Polly was married to Robert Sample. Daughter Mary whose children, Anna Eliza Kirk and Mary Kirk, rec'd legacies of money. A grandson also rec'd a legacy - Elisha (a minor-aged son of the dec'd son John) and for whom a guardian by name of Adam Folmer was appointed. These three grandchildren rec'd a legacy of 40 pounds each. The widow Ruth Covert rec'd 1/3 value of her late husband's land. Mathias Webb signature on some of these. (Copies of about 25 pages of his documents in my possession as ordered from Sunbury Courthouse)
|Lynda Puakea||Dunton Family|
Aloha e Andrew,
Online I found a record of the burials of the Dunton Family.. from the collection of the Madison County Historical Society, Oneida, NY... Amasa 114465735 & Mercy 114465715 Dunton are my 4X great grandparents; Nathanial Freeman 114465769 & Saphira Smith 114465811 Dunton are my 3X great grandparents and their infant daughter, Sarah Dunton 114465670 would be my 2nd great grand aunt. Would you consider transferring management of their pages to me? Would appreciate it very much... short of that, would you attach Amasa & Mercy as spouses, Nathanial & Saphira as spouses, Amasa & Mercy as Nathanialʻs parents & Nathanial & Saphira as Sarahʻs parents... thank you so very much for posting their pages... I have just recently been able to break down a brick wall to discover this line of my family... very exciting... I did send some edits for additions to their pages based on info I received from a newly found cousin who has been working on the genealogy of this line for quite a while. Thanks again...

It looks like spring might be delayed this year! But I'll check back to see if you've found a stone for Samuel. Thanks.
|Jodine Bergen||Waterville Cemetery burials|
I am looking for burial information on several people who died in Waterville. My 2x great grandfather lived in Waterville. Two of his children are buried there: Clara Amelia Harwood died 31 December 1862 at 7 months 26 days old and Hatley Harwood died sometime around the same time. Mary Ann Welford, my 3x great grandmother, died 15 December 1879 at age 75. Her husband could be buried near her. I don't know his name only last name Welford. William's sister Hannah Gurr died 28 December 1927. Her husband John Gurr was buried 29 May 1892. Their daughter Marietta Julia Gurr died 1 June 1919.
Would it be possible for you to add memorials for these people? If not, do you know of a contact at the cemetery who could help me find missing information? Thanks for any help.
