RE: Adelicia Acklen updates
No, I haven't asked anyone when Rokeby was torn down. I've only looked here and there for clues and think it was probably in the early 1950's. Even if I knew the exact year I would probably never take the time to look through a years worth of 2 newspapers to find the article.

I've read DINNER AT BELMONT a couple of times. Interesting fiction.

RE: Adelicia Acklen updates
Thank you so much for adding the links and so quickly. I wasn't sure you would receive my message. Have also sent a request for links to the contributor who added 8 of Adelicia's children. Her son, Joseph, must be linked by Find a Grave as he is designated as famous.

Glad you found the article on Rokeby interesting. Wish I knew for sure when the house was torn down so I'd have a clue where to search for the newspaper the article came out of. I wish the house was still there, too. My grandmother told me she was born at Rokeby although reading that article one would think she couldn't have been. Other things lead me to believe that the Shields family actually did live there in the 1880's and 1890's.

Someone added a portrait of William Cheatham to his page and when I added the headstone photos it pushed his photo down to the 3rd position. If you would rather his portrait be in the first position, you can change the photo sort order so his portrait is back on top. Up to you.

Thanks again.
