I am interested in researching JETT/GARRISON families mainly in Iowa/Tennessee/Oklahoma/Missouri/Arkansas/Texas and Virginia and Murphy/Organ/Gorvin families|
I WOULD BE HAPPY TO TRANSFER ANY MEMORIAL! Just ask
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone.
The name and date are chiseled out
On polished, marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the place you filled
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

|in memory of grandma||Wilbur D Cannon -- b. 1840|
It seems strange the timing of your request, as I was just checking into findagrave to see of any of my requests had been granted (in case the email wasn't working)...
Anyway the birth info as well as your bio for him have been added. I noticed a couple of other W.D. Cannons had not been updated even though someone had texted what they wanted. So I have asked the contributor (Ken Saylor Jr.) to do those links - actually by the new automated method which I really like! That was for: William Davidson Cannon b 1869 & Wilbur Dugan Cannon b 1894.
I noticed that you have a Wilbur David Cannon b 1927. I'm just curious who his parents might have been. The info on Wilbur Dugan Cannon didn't mention a spouse and I couldn't find the other son, Joseph L Cannon. The memorial for Wilbur Dugan Cannon stated: "Joseph L. Cannon 8/28/1898 & Helen were parents of Robert #28007416".
I found a Joseph L Cannon, but they have his birth date as one year off (earlier): http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=85856634
Could that be him?

|Janis Peacock||RE: Gordon children|
Yes, I'd like to see Freddie, Salina and William
added to Eleanor's page along with the living
she had at the time of death.
I asked also if there was a way you could shine
up the children's graves so they photographed
better, where the letters stand out more. I have
a Find a Grave man who has been doing such a thing
for several cemeteries north of Cedar Rapids.
Would that be possible?
This family I am working for on the Gordon's
started out in Iowa city but younger generations
of them ended up in Canada. They are so please
finding some of the Gordon's and Abbott family
at Oakland- I have been doing the research for them
as they can't travel here to get it all done.
Have a great day nice and sunny..
|Janis Peacock||Gordon family at Oakland|
I visited the grave of Eleanor Gordon and
found after my second visit there her three
little ones were buried in her lot. Freddie, Serina,and William. Their stones face the street
and I missed them the first time. You photographed
all of them-Eleanor's came out the best on Find a
Grave. Her descendants from Canada were so please
to find them.
I was wondering if the children's graves could be
done again possibly cleaning them up a bit so
the words are for better reading. I realize they
are of old stone which does not withstand the time.
And I enjoyed and shared your poem with several
family members who are into genealogy too, I hope
you don't mind-it was so well written.
And could you add the children's names to Eleanor's
page currently I only had the living children of
Eleanor and not the children she lost early.
