I love going to cemeteries. I have been doing genealogy for about 15 years, but obviously my love is taking pictures.|

|Jerry G. Marable||Marable Crossing Cemetery|
To my knowledge, there is no Marable Crossing Cemetery. Marable Crossing was where the railroad passed in front of the home of Dr. John Hartwell Marable, II, at his estate called "Rose Hill" in Corbandale. So you left his home and went down the front yard towards the railroad crossing and crossed over it (that's where the name Marable's Crossing came from) and headed straight through another field which would take you directly into the Cumberland river. I visited Marable's Crossing last summer. The old house where Dr. John lived has long been demolished and replaced with a big modern type residence. We are almost sure that the cemetery you are talking about was actually located somewhere on that property but has probably been bulldozed over. The present owner, I understand, is very reluctant to discuss anything about a cemetery that used to be there and denies that there ever was one. However, we are almost certain that there was. That is probably where Dr. John, II and his wife and several children were buried but have been unable to locate it. We have tried diligently to get info on it and to locate it all to no avail. Please let me know if you need further info. Thanks.

|Jerry G. Marable||Your Mary W. Marable Posting|
The posting you have for Mary W. Marable, shown buried in the Marable Cemetery needs a correction for the death date. The year of death of 1813 is a long-standing typographical error. The date should be 1843. This was the first wife of Dr. John Hartwell Marable, II, and her maiden name was Mary Jordan. The date of death was corrected in the Montgomery County Cemetery Records page 23. Her tombstone today is virtually unreadable. I have been to that Marable Cemetery many times (since I am a Marable descendant)and have seen her grave. If you need more info on the Marable family, I have a ton of it. Please let me know. Just thought you would want to know of the needed correction.
