|One Final Gift|
Scatter me not to restless winds
Nor toss my ashes to the sea.
Remember now those years gone by....
When loving gifts I gave to thee.
Remember now the happy times....
The family ties we shared
Don't leave my resting place unmarked
As though you never cared.
Deny me not one final gift
For all who come to see....
A single lasting proof that says
I loved....and you loved me.
by D. J. Kramer
Find A Grave volunteers have connected me
to family, and I count it a privilege
to help others connect with family or friends.
It saddens me when a there is no headstone
or it's broken and illegible. I guess that's why
I like the poem....everyone needs to be remembered.

Thank you for all the new Bennett family memorial photographs, especially for the one of Ambers S. Bennett's final resting place. This one especially means a lot to me. Have a lovely weekend.

Just was reading your messages cause I just wondered who had claimed the Columbia requests. What a coincidence. I had time yesterday morning about 10 am when I was passing the cemetery. Finally had the time to stop and do some photographing. I checked and saw that you had claimed those! So I just went to visit my relatives and then took a few pics of some other graves that were friends of my in-laws and posted them. I think it's just so funny that after all of us seeing them for awhile we all had the urge at the same time!
I bet we'll run into each other sometime at a cemetery! Fun, isn't it?
|Bella Rosa||RE: Columbia|
I was there May 26th using the website as I went and no one had claimed them. I spent all evening there. When I got home it was 10pm and I went to bed without posting pics. When I discovered you had claimed them I had already posted pictures so I sent you a message telling you that I had been there after work the day before. Sorry I didn't make myself clear to you. I work full time and a part time job and do this work when I can get a free evening. I certainly wouldn't have wasted my time (as it's so precious to me) nor yours. I sent you the message at 9am (figuring you would see it beforehand). I apologize for not taking the requests while looking for them. I really didn't think anyone from this area would drive that far to fulfill them. Plus they had been dormant for so long. I never want to duplicate efforts as we're all trying to do the same thing here...
I made sure to accept the ones I plan on doing that are out there now. I will make sure to do that from now on. Lesson learned.
I agree, very confusing. The marriage date of 1909 to James was provided by another Findagrave contributor.
Linda...I went out after work yesterday and did all the Columbia requests...Maybe you can find the ones I couldn't. Good luck.
|Marylin DeYoung||Jessie Skinner Crokett Curtiss|
Thank your for your exhaustive search for Jessie. I also appreciate the information you found. I'll do more searching to see if that info is for my Jessie Curtiss. Her husband Edwin is buried in Allegan MI, however, I don't find her there.

I forgot to ask, what do I owe you for the Death Certificate. I certainly don't want you in the hole for it.I need an address to send check.
