Bio and Links
Bio Photo I started researching my husband's family several years ago when we "inherited" all the photos, newspaper clippings, wedding invitations, etc. that his grandmother had kept. I didn't want to throw it all out because it was a lifetime of memories and keepsakes so I began to organize it on a genealogy database. Then I was "hooked"!

I accidently stumbled onto my cousin's posting on a message board while I was searching for information on MY family and this thing just took on a life of it's own.

I volunteered to take photos for Find-a-Grave after I requested and received some for my postings. It was so exciting to see the stones that I thought it would be nice to reciprocate. I also think I have a "sixth sense" or the deceased just "call to me" because since I started taking photos, I've been to cemeteries that I've never been to and I just seem to be able to walk right up to the grave! I've done it almost every time!

If I have posted something incorrectly or if I have posted something you feel is inappropriate, please email me or leave a message and I will correct it.

I am not related to any of the postings for Mifflin County, PA so I will gladly transfer memorials to a family member, no matter how distant. PLEASE USE THE EDIT TAB AT THE MEMORIAL TO MAKE THE TRANSFER REQUEST. It's much easier that way and all the necessary information is there.

Any photos I post here are free to be used by anyone. If you do not want me to use your photos, please do not claim my requests.

Thanks for the posting on Cornelius Bess

Thanks so much for

My Mom is a Bess from this line, and it's so interesting to hear the story, especially the "scandal" that resulted in the dissociation from Best to Bess. My daughter got a kick out of the fact that there was someone named Goodenough also involved here with the Bests and Bess's.

Thanks, again, very much, for the documentation!

RE: Alma Wyant
I transferred ownership to you. You can do whatever you think is good. There are a lot of links to the one I created. Let me know if you want any others to be transferred.

Thank you
I happened to stumble upon this site and it was so refreshing to find my Great Grandparents on here. I think what you are doing is wonderful. It is nice to know that I can "visit" my Gram and Pappy's final resting place more often now.

RE: Archie - Jean & Barbara Erb
Actually, Vawn is her sister's maiden name, and Barb grew up in the Vawn household. What a small world! Barb's daughter, Toni, and I are sister's-in-law, as we both were first married to Artman brothers. We are both now divorced and remarried. I have assumed my maiden name, Richard.
Thanks as always, Mona, you are an example for the rest of us to follow here on Find A Grave. I am amazed at all the work you have done for this site!

St. John's Lutheran Cemetery
If you make a new trip to this cemetery, could you search for a stone that may be with William Dolbeer # 47088418 with the name "Arthur" who died in 1913. He is my grandmother's brother who died at 1 yr. He's not with my great grandparents. I thought maybe he'd be with the gr. greats.
There is no rush, but if you do find it, could you get a pic. If you could make a memorial, I would be appreciative.

Thanks in advance!
