Family memorial transfer
I noticed a comment before from someone that you refused to teansfer or update a family memorial. I thought perhaps it was just a blip....but I can now concur I cannot understand why someone would refuse to transfer a memorial when requested to do so by a family member. Very disappointing and quite disturbing I do not understand your reason or insecurities but I wish you well with them !

Union Cemetery, Port Henry
Just completed all your photo requests there, your very welcome glad I was able to help you out.

The mystery with Mary Ann Binmore Thomas is very interesting indeed maybe between the records/transcriptions and mowing rows we can figure out if she remarried and where her plot is there.

Best Regards,

-Nate

Photo Requests: Union Cemetery, Port Henry, NY
Just wanted to leave some comments about your photo requests and will be uploading the rest very soon.

Charles Morhous Jr.: checked plot no gravestone for him only stone in plot is for Lyman, Emma, Charles Sr., and Mary Morhous, but will post pictures of lot.

Harry Thomas: missed it last time and will be going back

Henry Thomas: will add photos and hope to see if the cemetery can fix it and give it a new foundation

James and Charlotte Thomas: gravestones still standing and look fine

If your looking for any other photos, different views/angles just put a request in and I would gladly take them.

Also I'm less than a ten minute walk away from the cemetery and hope to have it fully photographed by the end of summer.

Best Regards,

- Nate

Etheldria (Jourdan) Nichols
Thanks for putting the birth record information on her profile that I provided to you. Perhaps you could put the Federal Census and her father's mention of her as "Nearest Relative" along with the true spelling of her first name in the biography field, too. You have not responded to my questions about the documentation that you claim to have that supposedly contradicts those records.

RE: Etheldria (Jourdan) Nichols
You didn't answer my question about the data supporting the name on her memorial - to keep incorrect information on a memorial is inappropriate. Family trees on Ancestry.com have nothing to do with Find A Grave. The accuracy of memorials on Find A Grave is important.

Etheldria (Jourdan) Nichols
You rejected my edit of her name because the edit is "not accurate" and your data conflicts with my data. Actually, my edit is accurate based on the New York Birth index entry for her, the 1910 Federal Census, and the World War I draft registration card of her father.

The New York birth index record says this:

Name: Ethildria Jourdan
Birth Date: 25 Jun 1906
Birth Place: Richmond, New York, USA
Certificate Number: 935
Source Information: Ancestry.com. New York, New York, Birth Index, 1878-1909 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2014. Original data: Index to New York City births, 1878-1909. Indices prepared by the Italian Genealogical Group and the German Genealogy Group, and used with permission of the New York City Department of Records/Municipal Archives.

The 1910 Federal Census has this (the name is clearly legible in the image and the indexer got it right):

Name: Etheldria Jourdan
Age in 1910: 4
Birth Year: abt 1906
Birthplace: New York
Home in 1910: Manhattan Ward 4, New York, New York
Race: White
Gender: Female
Relation to Head of House: Daughter (Child)
Marital Status: Single
Father's name: John J Jourdan
Father's Birthplace: New York
Mother's name: Lena B Jourdan
Mother's Birthplace: Virginia
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
John J Jourdan 35
Lena B Jourdan 26
Etheldria Jourdan 4
Muriel Jourdan 1
[1 7/12]
Source Citation: Year: 1910; Census Place: Manhattan Ward 4, New York, New York; Roll: T624_1005; Page: 1A; Enumeration District: 0015; FHL microfilm: 1375018.

World War I Draft Registration Card:

Nearest Relative: Etheldria Jourdan

Then there is the 1920 Federal Census where her name was spelled Athelda (accurately transcribed by the indexer):

Name: Athelda M Jourdon
Age: 13
Birth Year: abt 1907
Birthplace: New York
Home in 1920: Whitestown, Oneida, New York
Street: Whiteshore St
Race: White
Gender: Female
Relation to Head of House: Daughter (Child)
Marital Status: Single
Father's name: John J Jourdon
Father's Birthplace: New York
Mother's Birthplace: New York
Able to Speak English: Yes
Attended School: Yes
Neighbors: View others on page
Household Members:
Name Age
John J Jourdon 43
Athelda M Jourdon 13
Muriel A Jourdon 11
Source Citation: Year: 1920; Census Place: Whitestown, Oneida, New York; Roll: T625_1245; Page: 2B; Enumeration District: 208; Image: 1169.

Her first name was Etheldria. Her nickname was Ethel. Please explain why you would say that this data is not accurate when it's there in the public records?

I am going to resubmit the edit and respectfully request that you accept the edit. She is part of my extended ancestry family and would like the memorial to reflect her name accurately.

I am also going to upload the draft registration card to her memorial so that folks can see one documentation of her name.

Thanks in advance for your consideration. If you still think you have more accurate data than mine, please do provide it to me. My email address is on my profile.

Sarah Mayo Higgins
My research is showing that Samuel Higgins (1655-1738) may have been married twice, both to a Sarah. Sarah Mayo's father's will (that of Samuel Mayo) shows that his daughter Sarah - married to Samuel Higgins - was deceased when he died in 1738.

I have a hint that a second wife for Samuel Higgins may have been Sarah Bixbie, but I can't get any evidence to that effect except that which is on family trees. The only references I can find a second wife of Sarah Bixby or Bixbie are the same references that assign an unproven wife to Sarah Mayo's father.
