Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am a graduate of Mount Pleasant High in Providence R.I. I enlisted in Air Force and spent most of my time overseas.I am a Vietnam Vet and spent 10yrs with the Air National Guard.I retired after 40yrs with Pratt & Whitney as a jet engine inspector and the last 10yrs as an FAA inspector for the company.I have been researching my family tree as a hobby.I walk a lot of historical cemeteries looking for my ancestors final resting place.I take a lot of photos and clean up some plots of the family when I find them.My mothers side of family (Whitford)dates back to the 1600's.They are called swamp yankees around here.I have many historical cemeteries located a short distance from my house.I recently became involved with Pocasset cemetery in Cranston.I only live 2 miles from their.I do a lot of cleaning of grave sites and take photos as I go.I started a page on facebook for the cemetery if anyone is interested.I use ancestry.com for the info I enter on the bios.If you find a error please send me a note and I will correct it.
News flash:As a result of all my work at this cemetery they have put me on as a board member.I will try and fill out more photo request when I figure out the filing system which is very old.
I have started another task at this cemetery: I am posting all the burial cards on F.A.G. so expect a lot of edits. I am doing it alphabetically so I do not know when I will be done. This way I capture all the single plots with only a small numbered stone. I will not be taking photos of small stones because they are basically all the same except for the number but you will have the location.

RE: Pocasset Cemetery
I am always pleased to see your name pop up; however could you please hurry on down to the letter "S" and the name Stone. LOL. I have plenty of ancestors in Pocasset so I'll be seeing more edits from you before you get to "S". Just stay well--- msny people are awaiting your edits!

Thanks, George, for the edits on Horace Bowen et al. Having the cemetery records posted on individual memorials is very helpful but what a job for you to photograph and upload the records. Many thanks. You are a special person, indeed.

Katelyn Angell
Lillian Brady
Hello George,
My name is Katelyn Angell, My Father's Name is Robert Brady His Father is Edward Brady. My Nana (Edward Brady's Wife) was Lillian Brady. I have realized that on the beautiful page that you have worked so hard for, that Lillian was once married to your Uncle Leonard Whitford. When i found this information and your note at the bottom about their divorce in 1925; i had to call my Father (Robert Brady) immediately. The reason for the emergency of the call was because i had no clue that Lillian was ever married before my Papa (Edward Brady), and i needed an explanation!!! But unfortunately, there was no explanation because come to find out, My Father didnt know either. However the most interesting of your research was that Charles Whitford(census 1925) seems to have his name changed to Charles Brady (census 1940), is this the same person. Because if so, all my uncle "Chuck's" children and grandchildren deserve to know the truth. This information does make sense to me and my Father considering the reference to Census 1940 of the Brady household. Charles Brady age 17, and then Edward Brady Jr age 10. The large gap between children is an abnormal to the trend of the others. And also Edward Brady Jr. should have been the name of the first born by tradition. So Uncle Jr. seems to be the first born of my Papa Edward Brady's. This is just a hunch please send me your thoughts and information on this matter. Its pretty shocking to us as of right now and would love/ appreciate some clarity! thank you so much! and Thank You for your Service!

George, This post is not related to Find a Grave. When I mentioned you and your work to my husband, Normand Duhaime, he told me that he graduated from Mount Pleasant High School with you. Sure enough, your picture was in his Netop. Again, thanks for all your hard work.

Pocasset Cemetery
Thank you George for your interest in Pocasset Cemetery. I have noted that when I visit my grandmother's grave, (Alice Kerfoot Fenner), that it is always clean of brush and easy to get to. My family really appreciates your hard work.
