Welcome to my profile.|
Everyone who knows me knows that I love getting to know my ancestors and have spent the better part of the last thirty years devoted to it. I enjoy walking through cemeteries and looking at memorial stones. I find it relaxing and peaceful and have met some of the nicest people through Find A Grave!
It makes me happy to help someone add a page to their history and keep the person's memory alive. I also feel that it may give a family a type of closure to know where a loved one is located.
Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate "© 2010-2016 Chloe on Find A Grave". I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. Use for commercial purposes is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. You may use my photos on your own personal website if non-commercial, but photo credit is again appreciated.
Please use the new Edit System when possible for making any name or date changes to a memorial. You add the changes yourself and I will approve them or contact you for further clarification.
I am happy to add or correct information for you on memorials. I am somewhat liberal with transfers of anyone not related to me, but please state your specific relationship.
Please also feel free to contact me via email or post a message regarding any additional related family members. Perhaps we are cousins!
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we saw where Mom and Dad lay.
We had been here once before
On a day we'd all like to forget,
But will remember forever more.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|KC Jayhawker||RE: Rasche Family|
I am living in Liberty, MO currently. It is north of Kansas City.
Kansas is a beautiful place. :-) A great place to grow up.
Absolutely you can use the photo. It is actually a wheat field right before harvest taken in Leavenworth county.
Thanks again for all that you do!

I went out this afternoon an hour earlier than last time and the picture is much more readable.

You are welcome. I was not happy with Michael's picture because I got there too late for the sun to catch it correctly. I live very close, so I'll run back over in the next few days and catch it to where you can see it when it is not in the shade.

I am a ancestor of the Erwin from Waseca and New York areas. I am typing some history papers that I have had for years but hard to read. As I am doing this I am looking for the graves of William, Prudin ( I thought it was Prudence) and David Erwin.
I am located in Wind Lake WI and my grandfather Wilbur Erwin was a child of William and second wife Susan Higgins.
Great to see this marker.

|Kristine Keller||RE: Transfer Request|
Yes, it has been difficult gaining information for the Keller tree - I'm working on it.
I remember my grandmother Marie Keller (married to Johnny Frederick Keller - who, btw was not adopted) talking about Aunt Daisy! My father Robert E Keller grew up in Minneapolis and there was a lot of family there.
Nice meeting a relative - if you have any other information please let me know.
