Although born in central Illinois, I now live in Versailles, Missouri. I am proud of my heritage and hope to contribute much to this site. A part of my heritage includes ancestors who bore arms in defense of the constitution, but who were defeated in 1865. Many of the graves I enter are not my ancestors, but the graves of proud Confederate soldiers. Deo Vindice!|

I see that you have taken pictures of West York Cemetery, in Illinois.
My great grandfather was supposed to be buried there but there is no marker. We found this out by going there years ago before I was interested and I did not take pictures or even remember much about it.
His name was William H. Gibson born about 1862.
He had my grandfather Charles Dell Gibson in 1883 and after that it was told that he (William H. Gibson) killed himself or was shot. I cannot find out this information and cannot find anyone that knows who the man was that took us to the cemetery and showed us on the plot and in person where he was buried. I would like this information and anything that would help me find out more about this side of the family. If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Look looks like you have been taking pictures for others. What a great person you must be to help others out, like that.
I'm doing some research for a class I'm giving in Independence, MO. I saw your picture on
findagrave.com of George Washington Hallar. I was wondering if you had any additional info on him or is your ancestor. I'm trying to come up with Civil War men that are buried in Woodlawn Cemetery for the members of the class. I was hoping to do d a little research ahead of time and come up with some interesting stories for the class member.

National Frontier Trails Museum,
I can't tell you how much I appreciate this photo.
I have spent a great deal of time searching for information on Frank & Mable and this just tops it off. Thank you ever so much.
