Bio and Links
Bio Photo In the 1980's I started researching my Linn ancestors (without benefit of computer) but got busy with my sons' activities and put it on hold. In 1999 a cousin got me involved with my Steinberg ancestors and I have been going full speed ahead ever since.

Upon graduating from the University of Illinois my father obtained employment in the State of Washington, far from any relatives. My ancestors (after entering the USA)settled in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Montana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey - I want to experience first hand where and how they lived so I travel the country obtaining data, meeting people, seeing the sights and tramping cemeteries. I missed the "cousin experience" growing up and think that is why I enjoy genealogy so much -- meeting new cousins (who cares if they are 1st or 10th cousins)and sharing our family histories.

I am researching Linn, Gibson, Weir, Scott, Polk, Steinberg, Koerner, Mitten, Bennett, Switzer (Swisher), Slonaker, Shaw, Goff, Townsend, McCarty and Whitehead, Miller, Schroen, Glabe, Schafer/Schaefer/Shafer. I am also reseaching Dishon, Deshon, DeShon, Deschamps and Herrold for my two sons.

Lawless, Patrick James
I am confused. Because I am new to Find A Grave I need a little more info on the list of names you provided.

Here is what I currently have for Lawless starting with Patrick James and going backwards.

Patrick James Lawless Born 2-28-1928 is one of 12 children born to James William Lawless Born 11-28-1897. The first 10 children were by his first wife Alma Fulton who died in 1948. Patrick then married Bess Walsh in 1951 and she had two children with Patrick.

Patrick's father, James William Lawless was one of 8 children born to Patrick Joseph Lawless Jr. Born 8-20-1872.

James' father, Patrick Joseph Lawless Jr. was one of 9 children born to Patrick Joseph Lawless Sr. Born 3-17-1830.

Patrick Jrs. father Patrick Joseph Lawless Sr. was one of the children born to William Lawless born in Ireland sometime between 1790 and 1805. This is where I have very little information.

I also have a lot of info after Patrick James and Ethel Hartman.

So, see if I have your message right

Patrick James and Ethel Hartman had 4 children:
George
Katherine
Konrad
Johannes Married Dorthea and had 5 children:
Johann Heinrich
Johann Adam
Charles
John
Jan Dishon (you)

My family trees include the following

Persons name, birth date, death date, place of burial; marriage date, wife's full name and her birth date, death date and place of burial.

Example below for Patrick James father:

James William Lawless; B 11-28-1897; D 2-20-1990; M 2-1-1922; Alma Mary Fulton; B 7-11-1899; D 5-7-1948; buried in Strawn, Ill.

Then I have a separate list giving the Find A Grave memorial number.

If the layout I have for the Steinberg line is correct, can you fill in the missing information and then I can send you a full copy of the list as I have it today.

Thanks for all your help.

Patrick James Lawless

I was excited to see that you left a note as being a member of this family tree. I am researching the Lawless line because it comes into my late husbands line in 1895.

I have the first notations of the Lawless line in 1790. But between 1790 and 1830 it is very thin. Starting with 1830, I have a 7 page family tree that is pretty complete.

Can you tell me where your line comes into the picture. Thanking you in advance. Lynda

RE: Kirkpatrick
You are very welcome. By the way, do you know what the five star symbol represents? I realize the other one with a compass and G are mason related.

RE: Harold A Gibson
Oh ok. I was hoping you were a cousin on that side lol. Would you be willing to transfer Harold's memorial to me? I'll add plenty to it. Thanks for responding.

Harold A Gibson
You mentioned on your profile that you are researching the Gibson family, and you manage the memorial of Harold A. Gibson and his wife. Are you related somehow?

Memorial in Saint Johns - Buffalo, NY
Greetings,
I've come across the listing for this cemetery in Buffalo, New York. Unfortunately, there is no cemetery by that name in the City of Buffalo itself. I believe the correct cemetery for your listing to be Saint John Cemetery in Cheektowaga, New York. I am contacting the contributors of the 20 memorials listed in the incorrect cemetery in hopes of getting it deleted once they are all moved to the correct resting place. The memorial you maintain in this cemetery is for Albert Reitz. I thank you for assistance. Please feel free to contact me or advise me when the memorial is removed from a "fictitious" cemetery.
