In the 1980's I started researching my Linn ancestors (without benefit of computer) but got busy with my sons' activities and put it on hold. In 1999 a cousin got me involved with my Steinberg ancestors and I have been going full speed ahead ever since. |
Upon graduating from the University of Illinois my father obtained employment in the State of Washington, far from any relatives. My ancestors (after entering the USA)settled in Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Montana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Jersey - I want to experience first hand where and how they lived so I travel the country obtaining data, meeting people, seeing the sights and tramping cemeteries. I missed the "cousin experience" growing up and think that is why I enjoy genealogy so much -- meeting new cousins (who cares if they are 1st or 10th cousins)and sharing our family histories.
I am researching Linn, Gibson, Weir, Scott, Polk, Steinberg, Koerner, Mitten, Bennett, Switzer (Swisher), Slonaker, Shaw, Goff, Townsend, McCarty and Whitehead, Miller, Schroen, Glabe, Schafer/Schaefer/Shafer. I am also reseaching Dishon, Deshon, DeShon, Deschamps and Herrold for my two sons.

|Nancy~||Areda Long Memorial|
I've enjoyed looking through your memorials and came across one of my cousins that you have posted.
She is Areda Long, Memorial 126045986
Birth: Oct. 25, 1911
Death: Feb. 7, 1988
Areda's son passed away a while back and would you please consider transfering her to me so I can connect her to her family?
Thanking you for considering this.

Thank you very much for editing her memorial.
|Orvan L Mabie Jr||Vivian Cripe|
Vivian Cripe does not appear in cemetery records. Her parents Norman & Lydia do appear in the New North section via the 1999 genealogy book at the Goshen Library. they don't appear on find a Grave. I will get to their grave sites for photo and enter on Find a Grave sometime this weekend.

I would certainly defer to you. I am sending the copies of the two obits from Newspapers.com to you via email. You are the authority on this one. Thanks for letting me know.
|McHunter45||RE: Crispen, Mary Linn|
Noted you found a Bible entry for Martha's death is Sept 14, 1887 but newspaper article states it was Sept 16, 1887. Which is correct?
|Ann Woltjen||RE: Seba Arnold Linn|
I think it was a mistake, whoever wrote Francis Linn. I think it is Seba Linn because of the resemblance to her marriage photo. If you like I can delete the photo, because I am not 100% sure about it.

the Information i had was from records at the public library. All connections were made from obits found on other memorials. Sorry-

It's fine that you ignored it. I would have done the same until I looked into it further too. Thomas Rodman Murphy is my 3rd great grandfather and I'm am just getting started on that part of my family history. I notice that and looked further into it before I requested the edit, because I wasn't sure myself that was right or not. Thank you for letting me know why though. I do appriciate it. I will let you know when I find more on him. Thank you again
