Thanks to all the people that have transferred memorials of my family members to me. I want to wish everyone a very healthy and prosperous 2015|
I find it such an honor to be able to join people that have been separated for so long, especially children that died at birth or passed at a very young age. Even if just virtually it always gives me a special feeling so that others might not have to dig around to find they even existed in the first place.
For what it is worth, I want to thank all the selfless members who do this to honor and respect those who have passed. To sincerely thank them for the countless hours that they have contributed walking the cemeteries photographing or creating & maintaining memorials.
I thought I might borrow what Jeff Gonyea on his Find a Grave profile:
"We don't "own" the memorials we manage - they are not ours. We may create them, we may update them, we may transfer them to others - we are but stewards. They are Find A Grave memorials of human beings, departed. They are not "friends" on a social media network website to be collected like baseball trading cards. And there's no prize for the one who dies with the most.
The reward (for me) comes from maintaining the most accurate and dignified memorials I can. What we record becomes history, and a record in someone else's family tree. We have a responsibility to do a good job of it. It's a privilege and honor."
Well put Jeff and I just wish more of the people could soak these words in.

Hello Joseph, You referred to a duplicate memorial for Andrew McDonald #141633313, and Andrew McDonald #28874125. These are two different people.The Andrew Buried in Ohio was linked to the wrong parents. The Andrew in Oklahoma was my cousins great grand father and known to be buried here.. Thanks again Johnny
|Liz Brown||Laduska Brown|
I'm so sorry about what happened with Laduska. I got the notice from you to add the parents. Before doing this I checked my family files to make sure I had the information in my tree. I noticed that I also had a burial location for her that had not been updated in her Find A Grave memorial. So I updated the information unaware that there was another memorial for her that preceded mine. I will definitely delete mine so the other contributor gets credit. Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention.

You requested a transfer of management of the above memorial. In accordance with findagrave rules, could you please let me know how you are related to this person? Thanks

Sorry to say that I went to specific site and found no stone for her or husband.. This cemetery is pretty full so I am thinking no one ever requested one.
|Sharon Wilson||Thomas G Preston buried at Laurel Land - Fort Worth|
You have the mother of Thomas G Preston as Susan Preston. This is incorrect information. Susan McDonald Wilson Preston was Isaac Reid Preston's second wife. Her sister, Mary Ann McDonald was Isaac R Preston's first wife and they had the following children: John W Preston, Mary Elizabeth Preston; Joseph Johnson Preston; Easter S Preston; Thomas G Preston and Isaac R Preston (Jr).
Susan McDonald was first married to Harlon L Wilson who died during the Civil War and is buried in Atlanta, Ga National Cemetery. Her sister, Mary Ann died (presumably during the time of the Civil War or shortly after. Susan married Isaac Preston and the families merged in 1869 and moved to Texas.
If you have any questions about this information please let me know. Thank you - Sharon

Hi - I gladly changed the order of the photos on this memorial. I'm sure you noticed that I did not post the death cert. I'm actually having trouble with this poster - he believes that he should be able to post anything he wants on other poster's memorials. I would be happy to consider posting anything I want on the memorial but I don't want it to be the choice of someone who thinks his research is all important.
Also, I am always happy yo transfer a memorial to a relative who is closer to the deceased than either my husband or myself.
Sorry for the rant but this has gotten to be a problem.

I do not see any other Wasniewski's near Henry, but you can check this website to see a list of Wasniewski's at the Catholic Cemetery site.

you may use the photo of the headstone that I photographed in your family tree, using Find a Grave Guidelines.

Hi, Joseph. The memorial was created from her obituary, which did not have her burial information when printed. It is one of the ones that I forgot to follow up on, to see if she was cremated (which is the case much of the time when no cemetery is listed), or if there was a burial at a later date. I will contact and try to find out.
Are you a relative? If so, I would be happy to transfer to you.
Sincerely, Lauren's Mom
