Bio and Links
Bio Photo Before my mom passed away I started on the journey to discover my family ancestors. I don't remember how I was put in touch with my cousin but we meet about 5 years ago.

That meeting started me especially after the phone call to my mom. They talked for two hours and I spent the next day gathering photos of people she remembered. The past came to life for her when I brought them home. She enjoyed them for almost 2 years before she graduated to higher ground.

What was interesting is that the past also became part of my present. Now as of August 10, 2008, the tree is being redone. However, this wonderful resource was found as well as an increase of information. The tree now stands at 6,011 people. It grows every day with new discoveries. All because of a computer crash new life is growing. With the help of others for every question answered ten more come up.

For that reason I am glad to experience the ever expanding network on this long journey. As they say many hands make work lite. Lets all work together and see what else can be found.

Thanks a million times something,
Doug Powell

Mildred Chestnut Ainsworth.

Got a question. You show her death in 1934?; However, I found her husband's 1973 obit online in The Pantagraph, 2 Oct 1973, page 25, wherein it reads: Surviving are his wife; ....".

This reference is to Mildred. The obit also reads: "He married Mildred Chesnut (sic) in Mason City, July 7, 1917."

The Pantagraph does say he died in DeLand, FL. Even though the obit was found in Illinois newspaper.

Hello. Would you please transfer this memorial to me? She and Uncle Fred had no children, so I am her nearest living relative (great-nephew). I am the custodian of memorials of her Niederer family and of her husband, Fred. Thank you.

S.J. Strickland, memorial
Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, IL
I'm helping a friend with her family tree and am trying to resolve the children of Ancel Strickland. I have posted some additions to this memorial.
However I just found another memorial for the same person...#64395209. I'm fairly new to FindAGrave and don't know if I should do anything or not.
