Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am very much enjoying doing our family genealogy and learning about our family. The "Lemon" side, the "Eastman" side (my mother's) and the "Reid" side (my wife's). If anyone has any stories about our families I would love to see them.

I am working with Family Tree Maker 2014. I really enjoy working with this program. This project helps to keep my mind active. Originally from Galesburg, Michigan we now live in Lady Lake, Florida.

Connie and I have taken Genealogical trips researching our families and taking pictures of headstones in many cemeteries. We have been to Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, & Canada recording cemeteries. If anyone has any further information or corrections please feel free to contact me so I can make this information as complete and correct as possible. If I know we have family members in a cemetery I usually take pictures of every legible, and some barely legible, headstones.

Please help me with corrections. If you have additional info or a correction to one or more of my memorials please use the edit button then suggest a correction on that memorial. Leaving me a message makes it harder to make that correction.

Submitting a SAC ("Suggest a Correction" on the Edit tab) is the ONLY way to give me the information I need for corrections or transfer requests. I will not make changes from public messages. Please don't make me turn off public messages. (Public messages don't have the necessary links to do changes efficiently.) I take a lot of time posting these memorials. I am only too happy to make changes when I make a mistake but most of the time these public messages don't have enough information and don't even tell me what cemetery the person is in. I'm an old man and have a severe case of CRS so I'm not going to try to find your memorial in error.

These trips have afforded us the pleasure of meeting many distant cousins and we even found the original "Lemon" house built in 1809 and still being lived in in Columbia County, Pennsylvania. I had the pleasure of talking with a man that had grown up in the house and could tell me many stories of its history.

A picture is worth a thousand words and for the most part I only post internments with a picture of the headstone. Consequently I don't always record every inscription on the headstone. It is already written in stone.

We don't take all these pictures as if we're in some sort of a contest. We do it so we can help other people researching for their family members. I much prefer having a picture of the headstone. It is my belief that in death the family is much more likely to record the proper/correct information. It is true that upon rare occasions an engraver will make a mistake but much less likely than a census taker. Census records are a good guide but some people are very lackadaisical in giving the correct information to the census taker or the census taker is only trying to earn a pay check and just writes down what he/she wants, the way he/she hears it and many times very unledgible.

Unfortunately, Connie passed away on February 12, 2011. I will carry on but researching is not the same without her help. I truly miss being able to use her as a sounding board for ideas and problems. We really enjoyed traveling and taking photos of cemeteries.

Family research can be an addiction, it is for me, but it can be very rewarding and is a great avenue for meeting and corresponding with many distant relatives. I wish everyone happy hunting in your research.

RE: Cook Family
I took a picture, but did not post it, as I am not sure which person it applies to since the gravestone does not indicate any dates at all for
Robert, Sarah and Hannah.

See the photo I have sent you and you'll see what I mean. I posted the photo the Sarah Cook who has birth and death year below her name, on the same stone.

It's a mystery on how to post this photograph!

Regards,

Carol McCormick

Hey, Jim!

Your memorial for Tom Staples has a later duplicate (Find A Grave Memorial# 70130525).

I know that normally the duplicate should be deleted, but it has all the biographical info with parents, sibling, military awards (including Silver Star). It is very nicely done.

Since Tom was a good friend, I sponsored the duplicate.

Would you consider deleting your memorial to Tom?

Thank you, my friend and F.A.G. mentor.

84078852 Venia
I was wondering if you could link # 84078852 for Harvey Venia to his parents? His mother is Harriett Johnstone # 84078852 and his father 78184788

Thanks,

Melissa

Delford Deming birth date
Hello, Memorial #64402677 for Delford Deming need a bit of adjustment. His birth registration has his birth date as 25 May 1903 rather than 25 March 1902 as you have it. The gravestone says 1902 but that is incorrect as the registration has doubtless the correct date. I submitted this changed date but it might be better if you changed it since the stone says 1902 Find a Grave might doubt the date 1903 that I submitted. Thanks a million.... Appreciate all you do..... Elaine

RE: Mary Brems VanAlstine
Hi James,

I have made all the changes, but let me know if there is anything else to update. I am trying to photography many of the cemeteries in the area, so I'm sure there will be further family members to add. Just ask and I will happily make any changes. You can also contact me at chelsea.dool.hand@gmail.com if you prefer.

You sent an edit wanting to link J. E. (1860-1924) to parents Isaiah (1851-1931) and Ester (1859-1943)

If you look at the dates you can see that his "mother" would have been 1 and his "father" would have been 9 when he was born.

I declined the edit.
