I grew up in Maine, and now live in NH. The main goal of my cemetery visits is finding my ancestors and their collateral families, as well as seeking out the burial places of the soldiers from the 27th Maine Volunteers. I will also photograph all known Civil War veterans within the cemeteries I walk and, being the historian for NALF (National Association of Leavitt Families), I'm also looking for all Leavitt graves out there!|
See you in the graveyards!

Hello, I am the great grandaughter of George O. Cook buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Kennebunk Maine. You have a great photo of his grave stone on the "Find a Grave" website and I would like permission to save this picture both for myself and for a friend who is publishing a book on the Civil War Maine Calvary (27th?) Perhaps he has contacted you as well as your picture is the best I've found and the snow is still too deep for me to get into the cemetery and take a photo. I will really appreciate your permission, thank you.

Charles is the gggrand uncle of my husband through his mothers side of the tree. We were wondering if you would consider transferring him to us for maintenance and updating. If he is your relative as well I would be happy to share a little bit more information that we have with you.
thanks Beth Street

On the page http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=14433905 for Calvin L. Hayes, you inquired about his Civil War journal. I have a typed transcription of part of his experiences during the war. Email me (his great-great grandson at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like me to send you a copy of what I have. Thanks for the picture and the info you posted.

Steve: I could use your help on locating some very old graves in Maine. I have looked at the MOCA page but anticipate you can give me some quick information. My email address is email@example.com. Thank you again.

Many thanks for the photos you took. They are much appreciated.
Thanks! It's only a mile from my house, so it provides a peaceful diversion anytime I want/need it. Let me know if I can be any service to you.-PAF
