I have been recording genealogy and family histories for approximately 40 years. This has always been an interest of mine--since childhood. I live on a piece of the old farm where I was born and my family has owned for generations. Several lines of my ancestors have been in this area of Southeast Georgia for over 200 years. I am a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy, both of which I am very proud.|
I have been a member of Find A Grave for much longer than stated above. I was unable to access my old account and had to start anew. I've always enjoyed visiting old cemeteries, as well as old houses.
My husband, Larry, and I have published two pictorial history books: "Treutlen County, Georgia" in 2008 and "Montgomery County, Georgia" in 2010. These books can be purchased online at Arcadia Publishing Co. We enjoyed visiting people in these counties who invited us into their homes and allowed us to scan their precious family photographs.

Anything I post, photos or memorial biographies, may be copied and used for personal use as long as you give me credit, just as I personally do if I can find the source.
I welcome corrections and additions to my posts and will respond to all messages. This site is a wonderful tool, but it is only effective if those who post memorials will strive to place them in the correct cemeteries and will continue to maintain them.

Sorry about that, but a Mr Jim Karney from your area asked me to place that obit there, so I did.
I have since removed it from your Family Pet Cemetery.

Find A Grave#156078151. OLIVIA WOULD YOU BE SO KIND AS TO TELL ME WHERE YOU GOT THE INFORMATION ON THE ABOVE PERSON. HE IS MY GG-GRANDFATHER AND I COULD NOT FIND ANY INFO ON HIM AFTER 1850. HE DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE 1860 CENSUS. BY YOUR PHOTO IT APPEARS HIS IS AN UNMARKED GRAVE. I HAVE NOT VISITED THIS CEMETERY BUT PLAN TO DO SO SOON. I HAVE ALSO PURCHASED BOTH YOUR BOOKS FOR TREUTLEN AND MONTGOMERY COUNTIES AND DONATED THEM TO THE GENEALOGY SECTION AT WASHINGTON MEMORIAL LIBRARY IN MACON. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Thank you for the follow up. If you’re requesting a change to memorial 13210850, I do not manage that one, but I was the person who provided the photo of Leasy to the manager of that page. I manage the page for her mother, Mary Strange (memorial 79296145). Do you by chance have a link to the census record which shows Leasy as Melissa (or variations of that name)? She is on my own family tree, and the 1880 census for her shows “Elizabeth”; the 1900 census shows “Lesie”; and 1910 census shows “Lecia” for her. I’ve not yet located an 1870 census for her, but if you have a link to it I would love to see it so I can include it as source data for her on my tree.

You are welcome
Hello - I just saw your correction suggestion for memorial # 79296145. She is my Great Great Grandmother and we have always heard that her true name was Elizabeth but went by Leasy (I'm the person who provided the photo on Leasy's memorial page to ahley who manages her page.) Do you have any document source data that shows Melissa as her true name? I'm hesitant to change it without having something along those lines to use as reference for the update. Much thanks for your understanding.

Emma Safford #63905132 does have the same name as Emma Safford #73428759 but if you look alittle closer you'll see that their birth/death dates are different and so are their husbands names. These are not duplicates.
Pay it Forward,

Olivia, thank you for the edits for this memorial. Sorry to have taken so long. I haven't had time to do much on the computer during the holidays.
|Mavis Wills||Marion Saffold|
I checked New Prospect Primitive Cemetery and I only found Marion Saffold born June 4, 1872 died Mar. 22, 1934, the memorial I created in that cemetery. I did find Marion Walls Saffold born July 4, 1955 died July 7, 1955. I am sorry but I didn't find a duplicate of either memorial. Please check and let me know if there is a duplicate. Thanks!
