RE: Dan Yancey
I'm a Springfield Police Officer and research the department. The photo of Dan Yancy came from the 1946 department photo. He was the department janitor. I have researched former black officers and have a few photos of them from the department photo archive. I'm glad you like it.

RE: Multiple Messages?
Hi Rachel. I sent you a note but for some reason it went under review. To tell you I got about 20 of them too. I sent one correction to you via the edit button. I placed the cc to send me one. I got about 20 or so of them as well as a carbon copy. There has been some problems involved with bio corrections, date corrections, etc on here for days. I have went to the forums and others reported same. I hope they let this one go by without a review but whatever going on they both say pretty much the same. I knew you would take care of it as soon as you knew. I have used the alphabet searcher before and a names did not show up and I added them to find later it was duplicated. Then I have looked some up to have it show up as not any peson by that name when I knew they were there I had added them and wanted to edit. So this 20 e mails thing must have been a glitch in the edit button. So sorry that it happened. I hope that the site is back up and running normal soon.

RE: Thanks!
sometimes when there is a death cert. I leave the memorial with a note about the cemetery not having them. Also people made errors when they gave the names of the cemetery. Sometimes that is where they intended the person to be buried, But other family comes in and plans are changed. Maybe the obit will give the Hazelwood, or a different, or none. I have a few up there that is not listed in the cemt.and like say have a note on them. Also the errors were made too with the cemtery not getting the documents made. So just do not know the story here. A family member that knows is the best...with the from the horses mouth.

I have a set of great grandparents buried in Branson Cemetery. They do not have them on the books. A couple of paper work disasters...floods ruined the cem. records, etc. I was just a bit insistant with the cem. as I told them I was down there in 1975 and they had stones. I did not know what happened to them since but of course sometimes things remain lost to us. I had asked for a photo of the stones and the person that was the photo vol. said they not there. After extensive calls and speaking with them at the cemetery and explaining my mother, husband and self was down there we lived in the area in 1975 I am sure they are buried there and I seen the stones, and did not have a camera with me the day was there. So they said if I would send them the copies of the death cert. they would list them as cemetery burials, but grave site unknown. So at least I go that much. I spoke with the funeral home that did the funeral director and burial of body task. They assured me they HAD sent that couple there, It was as error on the cem records. The city of Branson is in charge of them. So death cert. and funeral home reocords, my word I had seen them.

I know the Hazelwood Staff will work with you and if you can get something besides just death cert. it would help. But to many folks are not buried where death cert. indicates. Many are not where a paper says either...if that is the only source.

I am sorry that I was not able to help you any more than that. Leave the memorial with notes if you feel strong about it and that will at least prevent a request from another person and another photo vol. going out and having the problem.

RE: Thanks Again!
I have the Greene County Missouri Cemeteries Vo. XI by Ozarks Genalogy Society published in the 1990's and I have entered all the names that was not in Hazelwood. I do know that some was not put in the book as I have most likely entered at least 25 to 50 that I found out about while taking photos and getting lot print outs, etc. Unless I skipped a person or a page, if they are in these books I did indeed add them to findagrave already. I had heard a comment from a worker though there are thirty thousand plus in the cemetery. By the total number you can see I do not have a few thousand. Anyway if you know any name I can ask the office for you. Another big cemetery here, or several are Maple Park, Greenlawn. Also check the Alms House Cemetery for some.
