My home town is Westport, Co Mayo, Ireland.|
I joined FAG while researching my Ancestors who emigrated to Chicago.
I have realised my dream - travelled to Chicago and visited 3 of the graveyards where my Ancestors are buried.
Most of my Memorials/Cemeteries are in Ireland. If you find a relative and wish to add/change information,please feel free to contact me.
Most of my Memorials have Graveshots. I flower all my Memorials and link them with relative's. Ones that may not have Graveshots are my own relatives where I have not located their resting spot, although I know the Cemetery.
I am happy to transfer Memorials to Family Members, however my photographs are copyright and I would like to be notified should anyone require a copy of same.
Thank You to Jim and Tammy who have helped me find the resting place of my Lavelle Family in NY.
In the early part of 2012 I set up the Mayo Genealogy Group in Castlebar, we have monthly meetings in the National Museum of Country Life, Turlough.
We have set up a Facebook Page, if you would like to join and post queries about your Mayo Ancestors check out our page.

Thank you for your kind offer to transfer the memorials to Galen and Ruth Stinebaugh; however, as I am not related I must decline. I am acquainted with both the Stinebaughs and the Whitmores through our common affiliation with the same church. Ruth Stinebaugh's sister, Alice, was one of my elementary teachers and Galen's and Ruth's daughters, Mary Alice and Annette, grew up near my home and attended the same local church as my family. Thank you for adding these memorials to Find-a-Grave. They honor two wonderful and talented people who were taken too soon.

Your name was at the bottom of the Find a Grave pic. with a white rose picture. I'm new to this source, Find a Grave.com. But I have been searching for my grandparents gravesites for some time with no luck. I was away at school when my grandfather died, so want to put a stone memorial on his grave beside his wife Mabel, who died when I was a baby. I'm not sure if you are related in some way, or if you do this for this site as a volunteer only? I am very grateful for this information. Thank you so much. Pamela Washington Wayland

I appreciate your help! The gravestone is that of my father's great grandparents, so he sends his thanks, too!

Thank you so much for the additional photos. The elder Michael is my grand uncle. I do appreciate the efforts.
|TuxedoFrank ||Hi Dympna|
I am a friend of Jade Schmitt.
She told me you were kind enough to take a picture of the John Rice Headstone.
John Rice is my wife Colleen's great great grandfather and we both thank you for your help in locating and filming the headstone.

Hi Dympna! Thank you so much for the photos of the graves of my relatives! I appreciate it! I had been hoping Ellen's parents, Michael Hurst and Catherine O'Neill Hurst might be in the same plot but it doesn't appear so (based on how the stone reads, the plot seems to be quite occupied!). It's possible the Hursts are in unmarked, graves, too, as I suspect Michael died in the 1840s; while Catherine died in 1881. Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to visit the Rices and photograph them! I know the odds of me being able to do so myself are very low.

My relatives the Kellys are buried in the Old Abbey cemetery. I wrote the Franciscans but did not get a reply about an interment list.... How do I find out where my relatives are buried there and if there is a stone please? Any info you can give me about the cemetery is appreciated. Thank you..It is the Old Abbey cemetery in Claregalway. It is my understanding there is another cemetery close by to it?
