|Van Landry||Joseph Leonce Hotard, Jr|
My name is Van Landry and I've gotten into genealogy/findagrave recently. I noticed a link to the Buller family who I've known of most of my life. I lived in Jennings next door to Dale and Sandy Hotard and their sons. We used to go over to the grandfather's (Joseph Leonce Hotard, Jr) place and pick pears. He was always a nice old man. Later on I was his paper boy.
Anyway, I've made requests to link the other deceased children of him and his wife. I didn't realize that Dale is the last surviving child of six children. I also made an addition to Dale's son David's memorial a few months ago. I added the nickname Bitsy because that is what we all called him. I still have dreams occasionally about his death. He was in the first grade and I was in the third when tragedy struck. Very impressionable age.

I picked up the death certificate for Noe Hotard Sr, from the archives. It lists his father as Simon Hotard, mother, Marie, last name unreadable. Would you like a copy?

|Steve Howe||RE: Cemetery confusion|
Dewayne, St. Paschal' Cemetery is a Catholic Cemetery that is located at the rear of Hasley's Cemetery. You access St. Paschal's by driving through rows and rows of Hasley's. At the "entrance" of St. Paschal's, there is a sign as you can see on Find A Grave. This is the only divider that exists. I can see that one who is walking around can run into the other cemetery without realizing it. It is unfortunate that the duplicates exist. There is a similar situation in Richland Parish, La. with Hall and Rhymes Cemetery. There is a lady who takes care of Hasley's that can verify anyone buried in Hasley's 318-325-0496. So, any that you run across that is a duplicate, please see if you can request that these be corrected. Thanks!
|us_airforcewife||RE: Re: Olivia Mandin|
I was wondering the same thing about the C.Alves P. DaCosta. I think they are two separate people but not 100% sure. They way it looked in person on the marker it looked like two names on the same line one next to the other and no dates. I did some looking at the state archives death index and was able to figure out the first person on the top of the marker by death and birth dates. It was an 8 month old child named Reginald if memory serves. I would think she is buried with her husband too, but I have seen many instances where the wife is buried with her parents not with her husband. I will keep looking through interment records and taking photos and maybe that will give us the answers.
I wanted to ask you if you know if Olivia is buried with her husband or not? The side plate on the tomb as you can see from the pictures was broken and put back together. If you know for certain that she is in the same tomb, please let me know and I will add photos to her memorial as well. If you are not sure, then let me know and I will see what I can do to find her elsewhere in the cemetery.
|us_airforcewife||RE: Mandin photos in Carrollton Cem|
You are very welcome for the pictures and edits for your family tomb. I am currently working on the Carrollton cemetery very hard. My intention is to photograph the entire cemetery and enter all interments from the interment records on microfilm. It will take some time, but I believe it is very much worth the time and effort. Keep looking as I will be posting more photographs in the near future.

I got your edits. If you are related to any memorial that I've made, please send me a message and I will transfer it to you. I don't always get the notices if they are sent to me thru the edits button so one of these types of notices are better.
