Gastuv Krieger photo request in Spring Grove Cemetery
Hi, This memorial is for a 1 year old impossible to be a Civil War marker. I believe most of the Civil War markers in this Cemetery have been well photographed and documented many by Kevin Guy.

Also, there is no record on Spring Grove's website of Gustav Krieger either.

RE: Henry Lyons
Hi Bill. I'm related to the Slyter family & Henry married Mary Eunice Slyter. My gr. gr. Grandmother is Millia Jane Slyter. I have lots of family buried in Sterling Cemetery.

I think I left the flag because of his service in the civil war, but don't know why I didn't add anything to Mary's memorial.

If you're related & need more info on him I can get out my records and see what I have. Let me know.

RE: Maria Keely
DC is reference to Death Certificate.

Specifically Missouri Death Certificates 1910-1964 On-line. The state starts numbering them over each year. Early years had no year attached to the number. Recent numbers look like 64-12345.

Hope this helps

No, my husband is distantly related to the Steinhauers. Would you like the memorial transferred to you? I've been helping add memorials for Mt Olivet cemetery.

RE: Edwin J Getz
It probably is the same person. DOD comes from the Spring Grove burial record. Click on Edwin J Getz in this list§ion=39&lot=12&cemetery=SPRINGGROVE

Thank you for the info re his service in the 4th OVC. I'll add it to our records.

Angeline and Henry Gardner
Hi Bill,
Thank you for your message. Yes, Henry Gardner is my great grandfather, my father's grandfather. He is buried in the Delphos, Ohio cemetery by his wife Angeline.

Thanks for your interest,
Kent Shirley

RE: Richard Foster
I'm not related to Richard Foster. If you are and want the memorial transferred, will be happy to do so.

RE: Newton
Sorry Bill. It showed up under your name in my feed that asked about Newtons. Well. Maybe the person who posted it will someday find my reply. Ha

Bill - Did you leave that message about the Newton's for me? If so, DNA indicates that there was a Newton somewhere in my family and the middle name Newton was my ggf, Jesse Newton Russell b. 1838 and was with the Clarke Cav. (Co. D, 6th Va. Cav. Reg). The Newton name as a middle name was used in other family members as well, but the only Newton's I was aware of here in Clarke Co., Va. showed up very early, approx.1750. My family was here at least by the late 1700s and believe that somewhere along the line, Newton's had married into some part of the family, but no proof of this as of yet.
