J M R was my great grandfather, and I am stuck in finding his parents. He was born in 1841 in Indiana and was mustered into the union Army in 1862 into the 17th Indiana, being mustered out in Macon Ga in 1863.Of this I have sufficient evidence. He married Isabella Quinn in 1868 in Ogdensburg NY. It appears from census records that he was born in either England or Canada, but these are conflicting from one census to the next. He did become naturalized after arriving in the US in 1859.My question is who his parents were, who must have lived in or near Madison Ind, where he mustered into the Army. He died in 1906 in Ogdensburg.Thank you for any help you may be able to give me! Jane F. Sherman

Thank you, John, for taking the photo of my Great, Great, Grandfather. By chance, you you have the plot/section number?
You and the other volunteers do an absolutely amazing job in taking the photos for Find A. Grave. Thanks to all of you.

My search of all Civil War soldiers is going well. My dad and I have visited around 32,000 Hoosier soldiers so far. We are planning another trip to southern Indiana the week after next. Thanks for your response.

I was searching the internet for photos of Major Henry Jordan of the 17th Indiana and found a webpage that said you were related to him. A friend of mine is working on a book about the 17th Indiana and is looking for a photo of Henry Jordan. Do you know, or have you ever seen a photo of Major Jordan? He would love to add a photo of him to his book. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

I had sent the military info on Sam but am not related and didn't even realize that you had transferred it to me. Is it ok that I transfer it back to you to do the updating??
|Colleen Sanders Broyles||David Huston|
You have mistakenly added a photo to David Huston's memorial at Mt. Carmel in Ingalls (LINK IS 19299552) . The photo is of his daughter's stone not his.
