This site serves as a database so that present and future generations can find those they seek. It is used by professional genealogists, as well as amateurs, and is owned by Ancestry.com. If you've used Ancestry and found a link to Find A Grave, it is because of the work of many volunteers who pursue this endeavor with an earnest regard to preserve history for future generations. I was able to trace our family back 13 generations in America (arriving in 1633) with the aid of Ancestry and those who contribute to this site, and it is my desire to "pay it forward" by doing the same for others.|
Please keep in mind that this pursuit is completely done by VOLUNTEERS who spend countless hours in this dedicated effort. There is no need to feel offended if you find your relatives listed by a contributor, for that is the purpose of this site (after all, isn't that why you have come here?).
Please feel free to ask for a transfer if you find one of your relatives posted here by me (or any other contributor). Most folks will gladly transfer relatives to family members. Please state your relationship to the person in the listing and use the edit tab on the memorial to request the transfer. If you don't wish to manage the memorial, I will gladly add any biographical information you would like.
My primary focus at present lies in photo-documenting the final resting places veterans. I once found a poem written on a memorial for a young soldier and it stays with me. I believe it was originally from a speech at the conclusion of the Civil War. In part: "Nor shall your glory be forgot while Fame her record keeps; for honor marks the hallowed spot where valor proudly sleeps". I am privileged to preserve these markers for future generations.
History is made every day.

Thought you could use some requests. lol. I have about a 100 found in L to do and I believe M, W, X will be,(with the last few), completed. I sure thought someone else did these. Then I found here and there throughout the front sections of the cemetery. There sure are many profiles and erroneous sections or no sections listed and not recorded on the Locator or with the Veteran's site. Again, thanks for all your help.

To all of your members, thank you for being there for the rest of us. Having been unable to travel to the grave site for quite a few years and never having seen the actual grave marker, this is quite comforting to both my sister and myself. Your work is God-sent and so greatly appreciated. May your organization and its founders continue on this path of kindness with great success.

Thought you'd enjoy some requests. I am now going through redo's and profiles that have no stone. I was there this am to finish redo's in X and W. The grass was so wet with dew that I was squishing water in my sneakers. Just slowly moving through each section. Thanks for all the help!
|Cathy ||thank you|
