This site serves as a database so that present and future generations can find those they seek. It is used by professional genealogists, as well as amateurs, and is owned by Ancestry.com. If you've used Ancestry and found a link to Find A Grave, it is because of the work of many volunteers who pursue this endeavor with an earnest regard to preserve history for future generations. I was able to trace our family back 13 generations in America (arriving in 1633) with the aid of Ancestry and those who contribute to this site, and it is my desire to "pay it forward" by doing the same for others.|
Please keep in mind that this pursuit is completely done by VOLUNTEERS who spend countless hours in this dedicated effort. There is no need to feel offended if you find your relatives listed by a contributor, for that is the purpose of this site (after all, isn't that why you have come here?).
Please feel free to ask for a transfer if you find one of your relatives posted here by me (or any other contributor). Most folks will gladly transfer relatives to family members. Please state your relationship to the person in the listing and use the edit tab on the memorial to request the transfer. If you don't wish to manage the memorial, I will gladly add any biographical information you would like.
My primary focus at present lies in photo-documenting the final resting places of veterans. I once found a poem written on a memorial for a young soldier and it stays with me. I believe it was originally from a speech at the conclusion of the Civil War. In part: "Nor shall your glory be forgot while Fame her record keeps; for Honor marks the hallowed spot where Valor proudly sleeps". I am privileged to preserve these markers for future generations. After all, their valor is our heritage.
History is made every day...ALWAYS REMEMBER!

"There was a problem deleting the record.
You are not the original creator of this memorial so you can not delete it. Please contact Find A Grave to have this memorial deleted."
Above is what is says when i try to delete it. I don't know how but you always seem to get the people that are going into the veterans cemetery. A lot of my friends are members of my Post both the American Legion and the VFW and some of them will be going there. I would like to do their memorials but they are gotten to before me. Yes, Tom is not personally related but i am very close with the family. i don't want to delete mine because i said that i would make it for them. the one under your name i did not make. It's just a my word type of thing to them and he is a fellow Comrade, that's all. Mary Jo

I am a longtime friend of the family, since 1966 and i went to school with the kids. i had requested that this memorial be deleted earlier but it wasn't, it just made me the manager. I had already made one for Tom, I had told his family that i was going to do this for him. i was waiting for their info to put in. as soon as i saw it in the paper that morning i did it but i also saw that you did one also. He was also a member of my VFW Post. I tried deleting it myself but it said that i wasn't the originator and it had to be done by you. thank you for your help in this matter.

Thanks, put them right thru. I could have sworn you sent me something different last time, something more involved :) Whatever the case, thank you. It's surprising to see him connected to Texas, and good to know his plot.

Thanks. Sgt Joseph Brown is in Philadelphia National. I did see your sac, and remember thinking it was new info to me that I'd want to check or ask your source on, so if you can share that, thank you.

You'd sent me a sac for Sgt Joseph A Brown and it disappeared before I had the opportunity to review it, probably timing out. If it is not too difficult to resubmit it, thank you. Btw, did you know him or are you connected?

Hi I had already created a page for him because I am a longtime close friend of the family and I told them I would do this for them. I was waiting for weeks for them to get together from all over the country to make decisions. As soon as I saw it in the paper I made a memorial. I then saw someone else did one just before mine and I asked them to delete it. They did not and just turned it over to me. I tried deleting it but it won't let me and I asked them again to delete it.
