Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Jack Shatzer. I was born and raised in Southern Pennsylvania. Inspired by my Grandmother, many years ago, I have been continually working the family tree. I am a true Pennsylvania German. I am "Shatzer" - "Byers" - "Strike" on my father's side and "Peiffer" - "Sprenkle" - "Diehl" on my mother's side. These ancestors were mostly tenant farmers in Franklin and Adams County, PA.

Find-A-Grave has been a wonderful addition to my Genealogy interests. It has encouraged me to collect obituaries and old photographs from the family; then take on the challenge of finding and photographing their graves. Building memorials is the reward for all of this effort. I love it!

RE: Ramona Martin
Thank you Jack for all you do. I know you do it with love and so I trust her memorial with you and we're cousins too!
I'll keep her memorial but just know if you want to keep the brothers and sisters together, I will be happy at anytime to transfer.
I was new on Find A Grave at the time of my request and didn't realize that she was your family too.

I had no idea that you were related to Ramona or I never would have asked you to transfer. If you want to keep the family together, please let me know and I will transfer her back to you. She is my grandmother but I see you have done a lot of work and don't want to break up the work you have done. Just let me know.

Annie & me (but mostly me)
Jack, I have some Peiffers in my memorial additions for Norland Cemetery. If they are related to you and you would like a transfer, let me know. Here are there #'s:

108985441 Annie Peiffer
108985357 Henry Peiffer

There are 3 infants also, but I don't think they are related to Annie and Henry, not directly.

RE: Catharine
Dear Jack,
Thanks for the response. Solomon Strike was my great-granduncle, brother of my great-grandfather David Wilson Strike. Though I have no blood connection to his second wife, my curiousity got the best of me, so I did a little research. It appears that her oldest brother, Henry Alleman, migrated to Kansas, via Illinois, and was living near the area in which she is said to have died. A pretty bold move for the time, but both her parents were gone, too, so I guess Kansas was her "port-in-a-storm." Of course this is supposition, because it would be difficult to prove. Maybe someone will send you another note. Thanks again, Debbie

I'm fascinated by the obit you posted to her memorial. How did she wind up in Kansas? Did she have a sibling there? Debbie Whaley

Your Message
to D C McJonathan-Swarm .

Hi! I saw your message, and have had the same problem. One contributor wrote to Find A Grave and got permission to access at least one family of this contributor. There is a possibility he is no longer active. I do know he lost his wife within the last year, plus his mother.

Here is an e-mail address I have for someone in Find A Grave. You can write and inquire.

Cheers & Happy Holidays!
