Please do not add scanned obit notices, death certificates or census reports to memorials I have created. Thanks.

If you have any interest in being a caretaker for any memorials I have made, just let me know and I will transfer them over. I would rather manage the memorials I've made for my own relatives but that is just a preference, it's not written in stone. Again, just ask. Cheers.

Jordan cemetery not yet documented
I have been wanting to tell you about a small Jordan family cemetery that has never been entered into Find A Grave. It is one mile west of Capital Blvd (US 1) off of Purnell Rd (west of Wake Forest). It is in woods on the north side of Purnell Road. My Jordan friend can take someone there. I hope you or someone can go document it. If so, contact me at the email in my profile. Thanks, John Hearn

reading the tombstone
Try to take white chalk to the tombstones that are hard to read. It works like magic!!

My mother and I have been working the Gulley line for 55 years and we found that by doing this we were able to get a lot of family names and dates.

Please understand I am not trying to tell you how to do your work. I have great respect for all you do, and many thanks to all your efforts.

Thanks for all you do - Pat Stamps

RE: Adolph Harms 49275221
Hi Amy,
I removed the image, but I would suggest including the citation. The obituary was published in The Colman Argus, Colman, SD, October 26, 1911. I've been working for 6 months in our local library, which has old copies of the newspapers, so I've been posting obituaries to make them available to any interested relatives.
Best regards, Brenda

RE: Mattie Howard Saathoff Shove
I do not know more than what is on the grave stone. I saw the new memorial with the name "Mattie", not common, and matching birth and death years. I have photographed the entire Graceland cemetery of all readable stones. Of course I could have missed one.

You are awesome! So many people refuse to transfer memorials to family members because it takes away from their numbers. If I can do something for you sometime, please let me know.

Hi Amy,

Not a problem, with foreign names (it sounds like she was from Hungary) you never know, they can get transliterated or translated oddly.

I will go ahead and put the edit through but change it to Makk.

Hi Amy,

You've sent an edit for her maiden name as "Mauk", but every single reference I have found in the birth indexes for her children and death indexes shows the name as "Makk". I can tell they are variations on the same name but why should I go with Mauk rather than Makk ?
