Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been doing genealogy work for about 20 years with brief intervals of inactivity when my life took different turns. I love going to all the old cemeteries in South Georgia marveling at some of the old tombstones (some are quite elaborate and expensive even for that period of time) and dreaming about how our ancestors lived. Since my husband and I shared so many ancestors (including at least three great-great-great grandfathers), it was an easy task getting information about our "kinfolk". When my husband of nearly 40 years died in 2002 my enthusiasm for genealogy waned somewhat and I did little research for several years. I found the FindAGrave website about six months ago and entered a few memorials. I absolutely love entering memorials for so many of the South Georgia cemeteries which I have helped "survey" over the years thus enabling so many people access to this information. I especially like being able to link families and consider this one of the most important features of FindAGrave. I believe when entering genealogy information one should always be open to criticism in order to get information as accurate as possible -- especially when it is posted on the internet for so many thousands of people to view. Accuracy should be the #1 consideration for all genealogists and I will always strive for perfection.

RE: Bounds
Hi Barbara, I know their is a gap in age and different spelling of last name. I thought I might have gotten it all wrong and so I researched further and found it is right.

John Bownds was 65 in 1930 Census and he was married to Carrie, age 33. They had two children together, then divorced. Carrie and the two children moved to GA & spelled the last name Bounds instead of Bownds.

Thanks, I requested the connection with Carrie and John (his 2nd wife).

I appreciate your interest and wanting it to be right.
Thanks so much!

name correction
Ms. Kirkland,

I, along with my mother, have photographed all the graves at Corinth. This is the only grave for an Edmiston child with those dates. Will you please verify the name and if it is Craig and not Gracie, please edit the info?

Thank you.

Freeman Sellers
Barbara,

I noticed you were working on the Sellers family of Appling County. My great great grandmother, Louisa Rentz Carter was apparently married to Freeman Sellers b: circa 1814. They seem to have married sometime after his first wife died as they were enumerated together on the 1880 census.

They had no children, and I don't know if Freeman Sellers is one of you kin, but I thought it might be worth adding to your notes or to Louisa's memorial.

Also, I don't recall but did I ever ask if you would transfer Wilson and Louisa Carter to me? I usually send myself a copy of the email if I ask for a transfer but I don't seem to see one so I wasn't sure.
