Bio and Links
Bio Photo My family all settled in the Republic of Texas around 1835. Some of them coming with the Parkers to Anderson Co. Texas. Some going on into Limestone County and erecting Fort Parker.
Some settling in Houston County.
They supported the Republic when it was trying to become a state, separate from Mexico.
They fought in the Civil War for the Confederacy.
They built churches and established religions.
They built forts and fought off Indian attacks.
They forged this land called Texas for a new way of life.
Elder Daniel Parker, Miles Bennett, Joseph and Levi Jourdan, Evan Douthit, (all of Anderson County)
Joseph, James R. and A. Elisha Walling, Armistead Bennett (Houston
County)
Elisha Anglin, Seth Hurin Bates, Elder John Parker (Limestone County).

I am lucky to have directly descended from such great men and women.

I do not want to forget their wives;
Patsey Dickerson Parker, Laura Jordan Bennett, Elizabeth Estes Jourdan, Synthia (unknown) Jourdan, Sarah McCullough Douthit of Anderson County.
Katherine Anderson Walling, Amanda Williams Walling and Faith (unknown) Bennett all of Houston County,
Orpha Bates Anglin, Anna Mann Doty Bates, and Sarah Duty Parker of Limestone County.

OTHER FAMILIES I DIRECTLY DESCENDED FROM IN THIS AREA;

B. H. KENNEDY AND WIFE ELIZA KILLION, Buried at Pilgrim Cemetery, Elkhart.
MARTHA KENNEDY WATTS CONAWAY QUARLES, Buried at Pilgrim Cemetery, Elkhart, AND HUSBAND ALFRED H. CONAWAY, unknown burial.
JAMES CONNIWAY (CONAWAY), buried Freestone County, Harrison Chapel Cemetery AND WIFE MARY PICKETT, unknown burial.

YES, CYNTHIA ANN PARKER IS MY 1ST COUSIN 4 TIMES REMOVED.

Note; I used the name Walling as I was growing up because my uncle Forest Walling raised me.
As it is not my legal name I still prefer to use it.

Dear Ancestor

Your tombstone stands among the rest;
Neglected and alone,
The name and date are chiseled out,
on polished marbled stone.
It reaches out to all who care,
It is not too late to mourn.
You did not know that I exist.
You died and I was born.
Yet each of us are cells of you, in and flesh blood and bone,
Our blood contracts and beats
a pulse entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor,
the place you filled one hundred years ago,
Spreads out among the ones you left,
who would have loved you so.
I wonder...if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew,
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you.

***NOTE~~~ATTENTION

If anyone has any stories or information on any of my memorials, please let me know.
Every person that has lived has a story to tell.
I would like to know those stories. I think that every person should have their life remembered.
Anything at all is not to small, when it comes to a person's life.

I want no costly stone
Upon my grave to be
Ah, Savior knows his
own and that's enough for me.
Just write it deep and plain that
all who pass
may know that death
to me is gain:
Through it to life I go.

CLAYTON CHARLES DAVIS
Hi Nancy,
I was wondering if you would be kind enough to add the parents to Clayton Charles Davis #32617809. His parents are John Ez Davis #93539224 and Leona Newman Davis #93539157. Last year I tracked them down to Rockport Cemetery in Texas where I located there graves. If you would be willing to do a transfer, a gentleman of direct decent recently contacted me and joined this site, you could transfer to him at #48132630 if you wish.

Thank you much for any help you can provide!

RE: Flora Gause Patton Murchison Duplicate Memorial
Thank you for your help cleaning this up. The maiden and married names often get confused, but I like findagrave's method of sorting it out.
