I am currently president of the Preston Historical Society. We have been involved in transcribing church records, trying to repair our meeting place, the Old Town Library, and getting our records in order.
Personally, I am a retired teacher, with a love for local history. I have been volunteering with LDS and transcribing census, birth and death certificates. I am also interested in genealogy.

Hi Linda,I wonder if you have any recommendation for where I can find HOW a relative might have died. I have names and dates but now the curiosity is getting me.I have so many ancestors in that area and know where some went to school and were married, etc.I hope you are enjoying the Fall .

RE: Hello Linda
I say thank you!
If you were of a mind to do that that would be awesome! May I use you email address on Find A Grave...to send the facts of what I am looking for? If I thought it would do any good I'd ask my sister, who lives in Bradford, RI, to try and get by there. She isn't into this Ancestry stuff so it is kind of an inconvenience for her...and she is still working...being younger than me.
Thanks so much for the offer...and being so receptive to my Questions!

Hello Linda

Regarding this memorial for Randolph Lewis I am wondering if the father's name is correct? A family on the 1850 CT Census list a Randolph Lewis 13 months ( b. abt. 1849)... mother is Elvira Jones...but the father is listed as Dudley Lewis? Looking at this picture, of the stone, it appears to possibly be Dudley....or at least Dud...?
Can you tell me where the Note: Headstone Inscription was derived from?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

RE: Hope Capron Question
I have been double checking everything found online, etc. Including various books. I finally found a few things that has stated, ELISHA (Sr. and Jr) are both male. Sorry about the confusion..It is just I, and everyone I know..have NEVER heard of a guy with the name of ELISHA..until now. :-)
Thank you..for your time.

Hope Capron Question
Hope Capron b: 1741 D: 1834..Married to Elisha Kimball: b 1748 d: 1833. I obtained my information of these people from the book called: " A record of the family of Levi Kimball, and some of his descendants compiled by his grandson, Levi Darbee, 1861, Revised and Extended by Robert M Darbee, 1913.

MY question is:..IS HOPE CAPRON, a man or a woman? I am asking because words on various websites, including find a grave, have it listed Hope Capron is a She.., and Elisha Kimball as a HE

Linda,
Thank you for adding the link to Samual's mother.
I know we did the links to his parents before. For some reason those memorials were deleted.
Thanks, Marlene
